What's Zhang Wenhong's claim to fame and why should his opinion be given that much clout.

He's a doctor that started making videos about how to prevent getting infected with covid when the outbreak first began in Wuhan. A lot of it is either common sense or unscientific nonsense. I'm not too sure myself why he's so widely viewed.
He looks like one of China's older actor Wu Gang perhaps that's where this bloody idiotic doctor is where he's getting his popularity. The man comes off super duper sure about his quackery lol
Come on guys. Zhang Wenhong is the director of the National Center for Infectious Diseases and a professor at Fudan. It's fine to not like him but he's not just another doctor or internet celebrity.
The point being made is not that the CureVac candidiate should be authorized but that CureVac should receive license and technical assistance to produce another mRNA vaccine in order to utilize its supply chain. It's shameful how the Western media put demonizing China above global public health in their effort to discredit Chinese vaccines, but suggestions in this particular article are not completely outragous.

Where are you getting the info that he the director of "National Center for Infectious Disease"?
It says here that he's the director of the infectious disease department of Huashan hospital, which is affiliated with Fudan.
What is this "National Center for Infectious Disease" that you're referring to?
Anyway, my opinion of him is based on his words, not his position.
He has been supporting the use of local mRNA vaccines, which can produce way more antibodies.
