I actually thought it was more of a gray area so thanks for informing me of the rule
It seems that China chose to interact with central Asian directly instead of via Shanghai Coop Org. SCO doesn't seem to function as expected since India joined.
Russia did a number on China by insisting that India join it. Russia's decision has diplomatically damaged China a lot.
Xi should seek damages from Putin on this issue...
No offense, but aren’t you all about being “diplomatic” and “friendly” even if a nation may join a certain anti China clique
"Friendly" in the eyes of the world. When the doors close, thats when the real talks begin.
Russia has undeniably diplomatically damaged China which is now costing it in terms of finding common ground on the SCO format. Putin better get ready to pay up by some other way for his actions
Remember, noone wanted India to join, it was only Russia that insisted in doing so. Anyways, this is offtopic so I will stop here, if you want we can continue it to the world thread.

Putin's not paying for jack squat and China would never make such a nonsense request. Stop drifting between fantasy and panic. If nobody wants India in it then they can either kick India out or form a parallel one with the same terms without India. Russia suggested adding India and China accepted; it goes no further than that.
SCO was a great idea from the beginning. And China did a great job until allowing India in. A total pain-in-the-ass spoiler. So is BRICS. Ditch both. Cut loss now. And regroup.
