Seems like they just complain a bunch without offering any feasible alternatives.
One year later, this pro-Democracy Professor couldn't help advocate regime/political change in China when the country was first hit with the Covid-19 outbreak. Why is it so often than not, that a lot of these political turncoats come out of the woodwork with their sharpened sword/pen ready to attack and damage the same political entity that has brought unprecedented peace, prosperity, and economic miracles the world has ever seen and treat it like the notion of having "Liberal Democracy" would bring more sweet flowers and roses; all the ethnic tensions in the world are simply going to be swept away because of "Freedom of Speech" and the altruistic nature of the "Market" a.k.a. Corporations.
This man, an Chinese Professor at Peking University must be eating some humble Communist pie one year later. And he must be exposed or be forced to watch the beautiful sight happening in India with all the pomp and glamor, not mention the non existent efficacious nature of such a system to handle a virus that's been known to the whole world for well over a year.

"Public intellectuals" as they are known of this generation is rather lacking because they assumed Chinese world view and value system must be wrong. How else can you explain how the west managed to jump ahead of China since the Industrial Revolution. So they start from that conclusion and work backwards. Everything west is right, everything Chinese native must be wrong.
This trend started off since the Opium War where confidence in China and Chinese was shattered and again reached a peak in the 90s after the fall of the Soviet Union (thus causing a crisis of faith in Socialism) and after China witness the material wealth of the west while China was still in early stages of economic reform.
For this to change we'll either have to wait for the current generation of public intellectuals to be replaced by fresh blood by attrition, or else something epoch making on the world stage that will restore China's national confluence completely (something big on the scale of Korean War).

The World Health Organization announced on Friday it had approved a COVID-19 vaccine from China's state-owned drugmaker Sinopharm for emergency use.

@Bellum_Romanum Bro Duterte antics about returning the Chinese embassy donation of about 1,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine is a political masterstroke, I think somebody advise him about the possible approval and my guess its Mr LOCSIN, they're trolling the opposition, what will that stupid lady senator say now after arguing against Sinopharm....LOL, she is tactless and foolish to believe her owned propaganda. Our FDA will have to approved it cause we follow the WHO guidelines. And the issue about the vaccination delay will haunt the opposition as the news reverberates among the population.

The irony is that China actually have infinitely more cause to call for regime change in the west and India since Covid has proven their governance model to be completely corrupt, broken, and now represents a clear and present threat to the rest of the world in the scale and scope of their Covid mismanagement.
