Lol so Taiwan claims that China is denying them the BioNtech vaccine.

But if you read between the lines it’s clear that BioNtech sold the rights to manufacture and distribute in Greater China to Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical. But instead of going to SFP Taiwan went direct to BioNtech. Sales guy at BioNtech went sure, but when he went to get approval for the sale, management went NOPE. Their legal contract states that Taiwan needs to buy from their contracted distributor in Greater China, SFP. So now Taiwan is throwing a hissy fit and trying to make it seem like it was China denying them the vaccine due to political reasons.
Let's forget the legal issues for a second. Some of the DPP politicians are really ignorant, arrogant, and dogmatic. They were trying to find out if China was involved in the manufacturing of the Pfizer vaccine as early as November, 2000. If China is involved, then the vaccine is obvious not good enough for Taiwan! Taiwan should have acted earlier to secure enough vaccines just in case for a second wave like what happens now. I don't know if their inaction was somehow caused by the fact that they were vastly overestimated by the western media in the first wave.

Taiwan will not buy made-in-China version of Pfizer vaccine: CECC head

Chen Shih-chung says Taiwan will verify that Pfizer coronavirus vaccine is not made in China before importing it

There is a big caveat/myth in the genomic similarities among different organisms. Pigs, monkeys and human share 95-98% of their working genome. “Working” genome means protein-coding genomic sequences. But this part of genome comprises only 1 - 1.5% of our whole genome. Yes, that’s right. Single digit percentage. Other non-protein coding sequences don’t code any working proteins, but play important roles in regulating how those proteins are translated. Different organisms have drastically different non-coding sequences. These differences mainly contribute to the apparent differences in human, pigs and monkeys.

The “96%” similarity between SARS-CoV-2 and the local coronavirus is shared among the entire genomic sequence, including both protein-coding and non-coding sequences. That’s a striking similarity.
[Edit] Just saw that @manqiangrexue has asked my question. Please continue in that thread.

What is the similarity of "non-protein coding genome" between Human and Chimpanzee? I think it is only relevant to compare with some animal that Human shares a common ancestor recently. I know it was not you who brought in Pigs.

Corona virus is too simple an organism, it doesn't even have a cell. Isn't it unfair to compare its "more closeness" between its cousins with the "more differences" between complex organisms like Human and Chimpanzee?

Lol all these countries saying they don't want China/Russian vaccine can wait. Plenty of customers out there.

There's 8 billion people on this world. And we need to stockpile for future outbreaks in case of mutations. Production capacity will never be idle.

So Taiwan cuck politician is saying they want BioNTech to ship vaccines produced in the West, to Fosun, then to Taiwan.

Germany people don't like AstraZeneca vaccine. Maybe they should send these unused vaccines to the Balkan.
Why would other people accept AstraZeneca vaccine when they know it is useless against certain variant which may become dominiant all over the world in a few months?

Many countries don't have any other vaccines so AstraZeneca vaccines are still being used in many countries and WHO also recommended to do so. Even though it might not be such a good idea.
