LOL....no one asked you to simultaneously run both OS's...

I was just asking if anyone here has tried the new windows 7 BETA. I've been hearing some very good things about it.

LOL... You misunderstand what Crobato meant. He meant he didn't want to use any Beta version of Windows (Windows + Beta, e.g. Windows 7 Beta).

I'm curious to try out Windows 7 very much, but I'm afraid my laptop won't work fine with Win7 'coz it doesn't fully compatible with Vista. But I don't want to format my office's desktop which is for work. Maybe I'll try it sometime later.

People said the same with Vista on beta too. Now look what happened.

There is no reason to trust what people say on Windows.

Re: Computer Talk!!

PCs don't interest me as much anymore, as I am with game consoles and smart phones. The trends is pointing to non PC related information technologies. PCs will remain with us, but the social impact of set tops, game consoles, PDAs, and smart phones will continue to rise.

For the average user perhaps, but not for anyone who values security and reliability. For all of cloud computing's strengths, a simple Internet outage renders it unusable. It is similar to the argument of access versus ownership. Sometimes, you do want a physical copy to hold. Also, welcome our new google overlords.

by Yu Chenxi

Shanghai. January 15. INTERFAX-CHINA - The number of Chinese online game players grew by 22.9 percent year-on-year in 2008 to reach 49.36 million, according to a report released on Jan. 14 at the China Game Industry Annual Conference held in Qingdao City of Shandong Province.

The report, jointly issued by the Copyright Protection Center of China (CPCC) and the International Data Group (IDC), predicted that the number of online game players in China will reach 94.53 million by 2013, putting the annual growth rate of online game players from 2008 to 2013 above the growth rate for Internet users as a whole.

Of the 49.36 million online game players in 2008, 30.42 million played non-free online games, including games that charge by time and those that generate revenue through the sale of in-game items. The report predicted that the number of players of paid-for online games will rise to 59.45 million by 2013.

Total revenue generated by China's online game market increased by 76.6 percent year-on-year in 2008 to RMB 18.36 billion ($2.68 billion). Of this, RMB 150 million ($21.93 million) came from mobile online games. China's total online game revenue is expected to hit RMB 39.76 billion ($5.81 billion) by 2013.

The report also included figures for the sale of offline PC games in China, which saw total revenues drop by 58 percent from 2007 to RMB 30.6 million ($4.47 million) in 2008.

Their internet connection speeds are quite good, as good or better than anything in the world. Or so I heard. During the Olympics however, the networks were overwhelmed. Didn't expect that level of load and hits.
