I am always amazed at some people who cannot see the obvious.
I would place a sizeable bet that the US will place sanctions or restrictions, regardless of whether Russia is involved.

They will not tolerate competitors.

It's a given this will happen.
China should definitely be working on a version that does not rely on US parts, and it makes sense to do that with Russia.

The economic war the US is waging on China with restrictions, sanctions, and outright bans regarding the çhip, semiconductor, and a myriad of other industries proves this.

100% correct, we've seen this with Huawei already, and had China notched up to full gears back then with localising it's semiconductor industry, it would've made more rapid progress and would've been further along the know-how continuum.

Also note their are already examples of sanctions with Sukhoi Superjet, Irkut-MC21 and Xian MA700.

Civilian airliners, EVs etc are just areas waiting to be sanctioned.

Recently, at the International Military Technology Forum "Army-2023" (ARMY-2023) held in Moscow, the general manager of UAC admitted in an interview with a 24-hour TV channel that his role in the CR929 project has changed from a partner to a major supplier...

now some members can ask. what does Russia actually want to supply.

as per the agreement, Russia will provide composite wing to CR929 wide body aircraft. and PD-35 also comes under supply chain of CR929. having multiple engine suppliers for an aircraft is a good thing..
