Possible. But there is apparently no rush for China to develop a WS-20 powered VIP version of C919. The VIPs can just wait for CJ1000.
I though the CJ1000 uses engine blades made from the British firm Morgan Materials (but from their Chinese factories)? Not sure if CJ1000 is 100% indigenous through. Given the current global supply chain layout, it is not that easy to do 100% indigenization.

Sweetheart, going by your definition nothing in service with US military is 100% indigenous either.

What matters is whether China can supply the part domestically.
And we all know the answer. China can.
Example: Chengdu Aerospace Superalloy Technology Co. Ltd.

This one below is an extract from National Interest Jan 21, 2018

Engineers in China have developed new processes that can make lighter and stronger blades using a hollow structure as well as single-crystal alloys that can withstand high temperatures and a special coating to facilitate cooling. These advances mean Chinese-made turbine blades are able to withstand temperatures several hundred degrees Celsius higher than the melting point of metallic alloys.

CJ-1000A is completely a domestically produced means all core components are from local Chinese companies.. i m quoting one of my old massage here for you.. please read out.

CJ-1000A turbine and compressor blades came from Wuxi city based companies.
CJ-1000A fan blades came from Shanghai based company.
i just saw this post ..

you are new member on this forum. and i strongly suggest you to please read Engine thread if you have time. we have thoroughly discussed this topic. and we posted some really valuable information about China's turbofan Engine industry..

now back to your question..

CJ-1000A don't have a single core component from any foreign company. i repeat CJ-1000A don't have a single core component from any foreign company be it MTU , RR , Safran or Avio.

View attachment 139633

CJ-1000A have wide chord fan blades made with carbon fiber reinforced resin-based composite material .. this blade showcase during 2022 airshow. i m posting the image directly from the show in 2022.

so how on earth UK is the supplier of titanium alloy hollow fan blades ?? China literally taken one step ahead to install more advanced fan blades. that too announced back in 2022.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
High pressure compressor of CJ-1000A has also been developed by a Chinese company.. MTU didn't even take participate in bidding let alone they are the supplier of this major component

This is complete list of MTU projects in all Engine globally ..
Please, Log in or Register to view URLs content!

MTU is a public traded company so they cannot hide such a big deal.. check out the list of Engines in which MTU have taken part as a supplier.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This foreign suppliers news first emerge in 2014-15 and continue to drag about few more years but it has been now vanished. coz there is no truth in this..

you have literally posted a decade old information.

this is just the one piece of information. that too from 2018 year..

Chengdu Aerospace Superalloy Technology Co. Ltd was the first private Chinese company to fully master single crystal alloys back in 2017.. there are Five more state-owned enterprises which are currently producing single crystal alloy blades. WS-10 to WS-15 and all latest Chinese turbofan engines currently have single crystal alloy blades..

in 2021 airshow, AECC showcase the 4th generation single crystal alloy. now you can imagine where can be China in 2025 year..
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
China is the largest producer of turbine/compressor blades in the world. probably at par with USA in number of units.

3333333333.jpg

this Wuxi based company ''Wuxi Hyatech'' is the largest supplier of low pressure compressor blades to all top Engine manufacturer like GE/Safran and Rolls Royce.

as of 2021, they have supplied 1.5 million compressor blades to GE/Safran and Rolls Royce.

so its foolish to even think, CJ-1000 have blades from UK.
