Percentage of foreign players could be as high as 20%. Much more than the initial 10% figure posted during the release date in the forum. 82% of steam bandwidth was in downloaded in Asia (Japan make up 1-1.5%) with the rest being foreign.

Making the console is the easy part. The hard part is creating the ecosystem to support it. That is going to be a mid-long term project which will be an expensive and heavy cash burn for a period of time. Money that Huawei would rather invest into their other major projects at least for the short to mid term.

Chinese game developers need to work together to develop an Unreal Engine 5 alternative. With the success achieved by Black Myth: Wukong, the US government may be tempted to sanction Chinese game companies
Maybe one of the Chinese gaming giants could buy UE5's source code and make it their own from there, similar to Amazon's Lumberyard engine? Otherwise I feel like developing a UE5 competitor would take years. Or they could modify the open source Godot engine lol

Adopting Godot might be the better option. Licensing can be blocked just like ARM license of V9 to Huawei (rumour).

it took China and Huawei two years to figure out EDA software.. arguably the most complex software in the world. we have now our own EDA software. high end medical devices software alongside Civil aircraft assembling software are indigenized already..

China is second only to USA when it comes to software industry..

so who the heck is UE5 software ??? if US block UE5 software. we will develop our own domestic alternative.. easy task

Tencent and Netease have their own game engine.
