So has anyone gotten Battlefield 4 yet? I got it just a couple days ago, played a bit of the campaign but haven't really gotten into the multiplayer yet.

My video card is pretty old, a Geforce 300 series and struggles to play it, the video options are pretty limited and don't allow you turn down the graphics other than screen resolution.

As for the story, it so far follows the same kind of conspiracy theory stuff, with Chinese having access to EMP bombs and anti-ship missiles that do successfully sink aircraft carriers all the way in the pacific. The story is that a Chinese military coup happens and launches China into a civil war after a Chinese admiral 'Chang' assassinates a progressive president, with the backing of the Russians, and thus America intervenes and forces the PLA to fight them in the pacific and in Southeast Asia while repressing its own civilians that seem too willing to help American spec ops teams and effectively betray their country.

But yeah, only played through half of it, let me know what you guys think.

? I'm pretty sure there's an entire section for "ultra, high, medium, and low" graphics settings there covering all the usual things like AA, and texture quality. Quite a bit more than just screen resolution.

Already got mine, premium-ed it even. And yes, your card will struggle to deliver, that's why I got a GTX 770.

Even if you can tune the resolution it won't help either, the "Levolution" (certain terrain features can be "modified" to change the gameplay aspects, like the guard tower in the prison block can be collapsed, for instance).

Personally, I'd never bother whether singleplayer portion got actual story content, it serves more like training session plus, this time round, unlock dog tags and a few nice guns to be use in the multiplayer - that way, you can have M249 and P90 as your starter weapon, gives you a better edge on the firepower department.

If you want to play BF4 at decent output, upgrade to at least using:
i5 processor
16GB RAM
GTX 770 (OC edition preferable)
Dedicated SSD for games (if you got the money to spare, personally I prioritize volume first, speed second)

And let Nvidia Experience optimize the settings for you.

I bought the latest Call of Duty Ghosts. Had to be the worst single player-wise. It was just too short. I finished it in maybe a total couple hours. Big waste of $60.

Yea, this isn't surprising, though any word if the game is actually banned?

If it's banned, then so would any China-based servers hosting the BF4 matches (though I heard patron of those China's servers has next to none in terms of sportsmanship...), but I don't think it'd matter if it got banned or not, because BF4 requires quite high-tier kind of hardware as well as broadband connections, which both are of premium in China (especially the latter).

But so far, the protests only came from a fringe news site and nothing actually done on the game or server or whatever substantive.

Just in: China has officially banned Battlefield 4, though they've yet release official statement of the order, mainland China's game sites have all received orders to pull down everything that's related to Battlefield 4.
