kinda metal that these are also real life deities in Chinese culture, not saying such deities haven’t been part of gaming before like Guan Yu in Dynasty Warriors or Three Kingdoms, but given the magnitude of this AAA game, it’s reversed. Imagine if you were playing Skyrim and there are real countries and cultures in the modern world that worship Aedra and Daedra, like there are temples to Nocturnal or Talos or Meridia.
The biggest analogy to BMW in the West is probably God of War though, it’s a similar deal there with Greek & Norse gods.

The English and the Americans have no mythological gods of their own however, so they have to invent fantasy gods.

Holy sh*t Black Myth Wukong is insanely amazing! The quality and details IMO surpasses that of some AAA western devs which is impressive for a young Chinese studio! I can't wait to see what the devs deliver in the next 5 years with all that money and experience! Not to mention, the encouragement and investment other Chinese devs would get from this. I think we're looking at the true birth of Chinese AAA Games

I'm on Steam and I'm seeing 1.428 million active players!!

Yeah, I am waiting on where winds meet in the near future.

Seriously at this point in time, I have given up on western games completely with even Japanese games also in the process of giving up on as well, I mean they literally have nothing new these days and are coasting on remakes and other silly crap that literally makes the games worse. China is the last hope for me in terms of gaming so I am quite intrigued to see where things go from here provided that they are not stupid enough to accept help from sweet baby inc which based on their attempts to black mail the creators of Black Myth Wu Kong is quite unlikely. Seriously, China is literally the only country with any balls any more in their ability to tell these assholes to GTFO where as Japan is literally started to surrender to these people like the pansies they are

But also beyond ARPG, Chinese games have actually been pretty mainstream in recent times. Naraka bladepoint as a battle royal, my time at Sandrock/Portia as farm Sims have all topped the steam charts in recent memory.

I'm more intrigued in Chinese games that don't rely on Chinese folk lore, since we've seen the same wuxia/journey to the West/three kingdom content done to death already.
