I must say I've never heard of the company before. With recent efforts to bring in new private companies to the aerospace game I wonder how many will actually be able to turn out proper products from concepts

The private companies might not have the resources to see the project through, but if the military becomes interested in something like this, they could form a development partnership with one of the AVIC subsidiaries.

More details have emerged on this stealth UCAV...
It's called CH-7, a part of the Rainbow series of UCAV. It's a high-altitude, high-speed, long-endurance, stealthy surveillance and strike platform capable of operating under high-intensity conditions. It's also capable of cooperative engagement, namely designating targets and directing other weapon systems to strike said targets.

Cruising Speed: Mach 0.5-0.6
Top Speed: Mach 0.75
