Interesting claims from 航空知识 (Aerospace Knowledge) magazine. Apparently, the JL-10 first began delivery to the PLAAF in 2013, where it was very well-received, so the PLAAF increased their order from 80 to 135 aircraft. The most astonishing claim is that the 135 aircraft order will be completed by the end of 2016.
My questions are:
1. Does Hongdu have the manufacturing capacity to make 135 JL-10s in just three years?
2. Why have we not seen JL-10s being proliferated if they have indeed being adopted in such high numbers? Only last year or early this year, members of this forum were questioning the progress of the JL-10 due to lack of pictorial evidence. Is PLAAF OPSEC really this good?
