Young people effort for rediscovering their heritage should be applauded seem like a fad but that is bit misleading since once they were wearing hanfu they will also feel like they belong to a group and have to abide by group norm and value then they will be curious what other aspect of hanfu like history and tradition like tea ceremony. It will lead them to appreciate more of their identity. good production by CGTN

In recent years, the number of people dressed in traditional Chinese costumes Hanfu has been increasing on social media platforms. The trend is gaining momentum, especially among young people, white-collar workers and students. For whom the appeal of Hanfu comes from a fascination with the country's history of high fashion. Rediscovering China is a weekly show on CGTN that offers a unique insight into an aspect of life in China today. With its unrivaled access to the country's people and places, Rediscovering China brings you in-depth reports on the major issues facing China at a time of rapid change.

I saw quite a few girls doing hanfu right before COVID. Super cute and attractive . Honestly wouldn't mind if it becomes the norm.

Interesting video about distribution of Chinese dialect in Malaysia and why they come use CC-> Subtitle-English
Penang people! Hokkien! Cantonese! Teochew! Hakka! Attention! As a Malaysian Chinese, have you ever thought of why our ancestors chose to live in particular states? Why not the other places? It’s absolutely related to the migration history of Chinese community to Southeast Asia!

Today we’re going to tell you in an interesting way!
Why Hokkien community gathered in Penang?
Why Cantonese gathered in KL?
Where are the places Hakka community gathered?
Why Hainanese so good in cooking?

15 day after lunar new year mark the end of Chinese new year normally celebrated with lantern festival and eating Yuanxiao (sweet dumpling) or Tangyuan in the north. In the old days it is the only day when Peranakan Chinese family let their girl show their face in public and throw oranges from balcony with a hope a handsome suitor will catch it and bid for marriage. We also eat special food

Not many people know that Chinese new year is not one day event but 15 days . The jade emperor birthday which is celebrated by Hokkien community specially in Malaysia, Spore, Indonesia fell on 9th day after lunar new year. It hold special meaning for peranakan community in Penang and meticulously prepared and performed according to ritual
