I haven't watched TV or any media for a few years either, and I'll tell you from what I remember from a few years ago, and sometimes random glimpses of it now: Any depictions of sexuality shown on television or official streaming platforms never go beyond kissing and two people sleeping in the same bed. No sexual acts are shown.

I have no objections to robots that replace human labor; this isn't about that at all.

I don't know what a best scenario for humanity even means because humanity is divided in in its goals. But from a Chinese perspective, no. I would be wonderful if America or Israel led in the sex bots industry (of course, China will lead in the labor bots industry) and the plummetted the fertility rates in the West while China banned them from import.

But this is all a bit premature because it is assuming that they are even capable of replacing a human sexual partner, which they are currently not and far from it. Like I said above, they may just be limited to use for the incels and losers to keep them from going postal from rejection rage and be kept out of the mainstream from stigma.

I'm not a fan of incel culture, but it seems like China is liberalizing attitudes towards sex, this includes sexbots. Pregnancy robots might be allowed by the CPC since China bans surrogacy but still has a positive attitude towards controversial reproductive technologies e.g. He Jiankui.

Some of the more reproductive technology topics is more suitable for the demographics thread, I brought up the topic in this thread because I think some contradictions regarding the adult entertainment topics is untenable in China now.

1. Domestic consumers are using foreign currencies/crypto to pay domestic creators on foreign platforms for adult entertainment content. This includes content including real humans and ones that don't.

2. Chinese video games are quite dominant around the world nowadays, many utilize various levels of sex appeal.

3. The advancement of new technology spurred by Chinese developers with applications for dating and sex e.g., LLM based AI boyfriends, image/video generation, humanoid robotics.

China's dominance in tech is undeniable now, but China's soft power is still not there yet. I think China's existing regulations around this area is hindering the advancement of China's soft power now. Some people might think what's the big deal, sexuality is not an important part of soft power, I disagree.

Think about the sexual attractiveness standards back in ancient greece/rome, ancient China compared to today. These standards don't just mold people's brains, they also mold people's bodies, binding back in the day it was corsets, breast binding, foot, today it is plastic surgeries. A wild theory I have is that I suspect the smaller breast size in East Asian woman can be partially attributed to sexual selection due to the thousand year practise of breast binding in Ancient China.

If China is going to be a cultural superpower, it should also be able to set standards in society, including topics such as ideal body type, fetishes.
