Shenzhen Aixin Semiconductor Technology showcased its HighYield® IM series optical integrated metrology equipment.

Shenzhen-based E-Core Semiconductor, founded in October 2020, is a leading high-tech company specializing in advanced semiconductor metrology equipment. Headquartered in Shenzhen with R&D and production facilities in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, and Hefei, the company develops front-end wafer metrology, packaging inspection, and scientific instruments using a dual-technology approach of optics and X-rays.

Its HighYield® IM series, developed by Aixin Optics under E-Core, is China’s first domestically produced integrated optical metrology system for measuring film thickness and critical dimension (CD) in advanced memory and logic processes. The equipment integrates seamlessly with mainstream CMP and etch tools, enabling real-time yield control during manufacturing. With performance on par with international standards far exceeding domestic counterparts the HighYield® IM series features fully self-developed or domestically sourced components, ensuring supply chain autonomy.

I wonder why Reuters felt the urge to publish this outdated EUV news from "early 2025" here and now in December 2025? The timing is suspicious given the steady stream of reports throughout 2025 on China's rapid EUV progress such as light sources, patents, etc. Why publish this now and not earlier?

I believe this connects to the proposed H200 chip sales to China. As White House AI Czar David Sacks noted, China is rapidly catching up in AI NPUs and semiconductors. By highlighting China's EUV breakthrough now......even though it's old(er) news.......Reuters may be supporting the argument that the U.S. should sell Nvidia chips to China while there's still time to make them dependent on Western technology.

The logic appears to be: if China is going to catch up anyway (as this EUV news suggests), we might as well profit from it and create technological dependence before they become fully self-sufficient.

You can see how Reuter's EUV articles got quickly amplified throughout the entire social and media network, it's US propaganda to serve a White House narrative on selling Nvidia chips to China.
well, it's a very secretive project and only the people connected in China's tech industry know about it. Reuters publishing this is a sign that this story has leaked out to enough people. You will see that even when Taylor talked about it, he was not direct about what's going on. I mean I confirmed with him offline, but the people who really knew didn't talk. It's the less in the know people who leaked it.

I would advise that we spend less time speculating on this.

More consolidation in China semiconductor industry.

AMEC plans to acquire Hangzhou Zhonggui through a share issuance to expand its CMP business.

On December 18, AMEC announced plans to acquire Hangzhou Zhonggui Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. (Zhonggui Technology) through a share issuance, aiming to strengthen its semiconductor equipment portfolio. The transaction is still in planning, with valuation and pricing details yet to be finalized. As a result, AMEC's shares were suspended from trading on December 19, with the suspension expected to last no more than 10 trading days.

This move is a key strategic step for AMEC to build a world-class semiconductor equipment platform by integrating dry-process (plasma etching and thin-film deposition) and wet-process (CMP) technologies. Zhonggui Technology, a leading domestic player in high-end chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) equipment, has independently developed 12-inch CMP systems and boasts advanced core technology particularly its pioneering six-disk polishing system which ranks among the world’s most advanced.

By acquiring Zhonggui Technology, AMEC will achieve full coverage of critical semiconductor process equipment across both dry and wet processes. This complements its existing capabilities and strengthens its competitive edge in the global semiconductor market. The deal supports AMEC’s long-term strategy of “internal development + external mergers and acquisitions,” advancing its vision for a platform-based, group-driven growth model in the integrated circuit industry.

Are they a stock market fraud company?
More like investment/startup fraud, allegedly.

XRL is an interesting idea that is resurfacing, but it faces challenges

. It’s also somewhat unbelievable that Substrate are ahead of so many major research labs in this area, such as those working on SSMBs and FELs. Hence, it is more likely that they are a scam.

Nexperia (Chinese) continues to diversify its supply chain away from Nexperia (Dutch).

Dec 19 (Reuters) - The Chinese unit of Netherlands-based Nexperia has locked in supplies of silicon wafers from local firms to cover its entire 2026 production for one type of power chip, a document showed, after the Dutch firm stopped supplying the raw material in a corporate dispute. The development will allow the Chinese unit, which declared itself independent of Nexperia's European management two months ago, to continue manufacturing Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) power chips and modules, switches that regulate current in electric vehicles and industrial equipment.

In a letter sent to its distributors earlier this month and seen by Reuters, Nexperia's China unit said it had locked in wafer production capacity for IGBT products with local suppliers for 2026 and was accelerating verification of wafers from Wingtech's foundry Wingsky Semi to ensure "abundant supply." The previously unreported move marks a further supply-chain separation between Nexperia China and its Dutch parent that could lead to a complete split.
