The magic wand are US stooge politicians, is not in China hands, if the US ban Huawei from getting US design X86 chips that leave Huawei with two options or either they work with local companies to replace these chips or let the matebook die, the US have not give Huawei negotiating options. A lot of people in China especially a lot of liberals would prefer to that not to be case but the reality is showing them something different.Why are some of you guys acting as if China can magically use a wand to instantly switch to 100% domestic. There is literally not enough domestic capacity to fill demand and it takes times to scale, become competitive, and have comparable quality.
The issue as more and more export controls into the Chinese industry it points to that the more is becoming auto-sufficient, is happening naturally, is not just the government anymore, is companies trying to survive and companies trying to meet that demand, like a fire that at first need gas to start but then it can sustain on its on. Companies piece by Piece are filling the gaps faster and faster, for example machine tools for high end clean ceramics, SMIC making sensors for semiconductor equipment, IGBTs for excimer lasers, you have pharmaceutical equipment companies getting into ultra clean piping and there is a thousand examples more.
Don't worry I don't think is going to be 100% , although a lot Think Tankers says that is going to be two supply chains, one Chinese and another from the rest world, the reality I think when the dust is settle and done is going to be one supply chain with the only difference is that China is going to be a much bigger part of it to much of the dismay of these think tankers.

There a not importing these components, the Korean company is collaborating with a Chinese company to produce these components locally to compete with the others domestic producers.Is the tech gap big? If not, Why r they buying from foreign comps instead?
