The DC blobs have gone off on the deep end and fully decided that AI chips are like military weapons.

so this probably restricts the legal sales of Nvidia GPUs (even the low end ones) to China to a certain fixed amount. I presume Huawei is thanking them for this since it has plenty of Ascend NPUs to sell.

But other than that, I'd assume the smuggling business through Japan, Korea, Singapore & Taiwan will continue to bring in plenty of Nvidia GPUs.

It does open up Ascend sales to non-US allied countries.
Is DJI all over again. The next fab boom in China is not going to be 28nm but 7-3 nm.

Garen Semi with some GaO update

They've now been able to grow 4-inch GaO single crystal using VB method. This type of crystal growth equipment and process is now open for sale.

It has launched after level 010 GaO single crystal substrate product. Mostly to meet science research field.

010 substrate has highest thermal conductivity and faster epitaxy growth rate.

Some interesting notes:

- Greenland is orange although Denmark is blue....hmmmm :rolleyes:

- In Europe, Portugal for some reason is orange but not Spain.

- Also no luck for East Europe (but still EU/NATO) countries like Poland, Slovakia, etc...why?

- Our friends, India people, are orange too...sorry for that!

Ok, jokes aside, it is really a sign of our times that during the last few weeks, even the last few days of the old Biden administration, instead of devoting themselves to routine and daily administration they ramped up super aggressive and long-impact actions. This curb is not the first of the last weeks.

You don't expect the government of the most powerful nation in the world to act like this one week before the end of its mandate.
