Yeah pretty much every big semiconductor equipment company on China is listed there. After all they are what really matter compared to the semiconductor companies.
But this is to be expected. It just means they are high profile enough to be deemed a threat.
One day hopefully the tech will be good enough to take away the advantage from ASML, Applied Materials, Lam research, KLA, TEL etc. Then a ban won't even be needed. Now all similar US companies should also be on China's entity list and then banned.
As soon China has enough equipment, materials and components capacity, US companies are gone from the Chinese market, it will be "sell your best or nothing" situationNow all similar US companies should also be on China's entity list and then banned.
Big companies take on liabilities that make it impossible to go back to when they were small, considering the size of Chinese market and how much revenue is tied to it, there's a realistic chance Chinese semiconductor equipment surge will cause enough revenue loss and lead to a cascade collapse among western semi companies.Yeah pretty much every big semiconductor equipment company on China is listed there. Nah, not really necessary. Did you see the analysis that LAM / KLA etc already worked around the first set of sanctions to manufacture in Malaysia? They have no loyalties to the US government - I think they'll find partners / setup subsidiaries / find a way to setup a new way to sell equipment into China without any US IP.Now all similar US companies should also be on China's entity list and then banned.

You can do that when you're in a position to do so. Otherwise you end up looking like India who asks so much for foreigners that they eventually just pack up and leave.A reverse ban would be to ask other nations to stop using US equipment, otherwise those other nations will also lose the Chinese market.
