Netherlands plans to limit ASML’s ability to repair and maintain its semiconductor equipment in China
That is not how it typically works in China. The IPO money is used to finance corporate expansion.IPO = bosses are getting their financial freedom = those started the company and being driving the company's growth are going to get their money and leave = the company will go down the hill from there
China should respond by invalidating all of ASML's patents.Netherlands plans to limit ASML’s ability to repair and maintain its semiconductor equipment in China
JUST DO IT!!!! these threats are getting old and a sign of desperation,. There are 2,000 ASML technician in China, Huawei and other Chinese companies had develop components that can be used on ASML DUVI (an example is RS LASER or even Gigaphoton can be used and replace those parts) , plus SMEE SSA800A is being mass produce, so will these frighten the Chinese, tell that to the Marines....lolNetherlands plans to limit ASML’s ability to repair and maintain its semiconductor equipment in China

you are right in this regards. China should have one more firm in this category just like in other tools..SMEE needs competition. China should at least have two lithography vendors.
Their lithography tools still seem to have no major wins except in packaging. Compared with the success of other semi tools vendors in China SMEE is kind of disappointing.
The article itself mentions that it was due to a leadership change in the Netherlands - “These attempts are beginning to resemble CIA’s plans for assassinating Castro.
Yup. The export controls are multifaceted - not only are they about denying the most obvious technology, they also reduce technology transfer through more tacit forms (ex., engineers from the Netherlands going to China to transfer implicit knowledge), they reduce competition within China’s wafer fab equipment market and create rent seekers, and they create a chilling effect on trade/investment on all stripes of corporates even when legalSMEE needs competition. If I just banned you from Chinese Economics thread, what makes you think I will take it easy on you in this thread, which is the most moderated thread on SDF?Yup.
