Chinese companies lead the field of lidar, accounting for more than half of the global market

According to statistics from Patent Result, a Japanese patent analysis company, since 2000, Chinese companies have submitted a total of 25,957 related patent applications, compared with 18,821 submitted by American companies and 13,939 submitted by Japanese companies.
Germany's Bosch has the most patent applications, followed by Japanese auto parts supplier Denso (DENSO). China's RoboSense and Hesai Technology ranked fourth and fifth respectively. Since 2015, the number of patents issued by these two Chinese companies has increased dramatically.
