But Chang sifu doubts the abilities of American electrical engineers.

I believe in Chang sifu.

He's like the Chairman Mao of worldwide semiconductors.
Maybe Intel not as good at 5nm , 3nm as TSMC but it will steal some businesses away from TSMC and Samsung at higher nodes

What's the model China had for ion beam polishing CNC machine tools, magnetorheological CNC machine tools?
Not just mechanical 5axis high end CNC?

those required for EUV mirror
also polishing the main mirror and reflector of China's reconnaissance satellite of 1 meter, 1.5 meters and 3 meters.

1月22日电 据军报记者网报道,记者今天从国防科技大学获悉,由该校机电工程与自动化学院自主研制的新一代超精密光学零件加工设备,日前通过相关单位组织的工艺考核。结果表明,该套设备加工精度实现亚纳米级重大突破,其典型试验件的光学零件面形精度RMS(均方根)值达到0.361纳米,标志我国超精密光学零件加工技术跨入世界领先行列。

超精密加工技术是先进装备制造的关键性瓶颈技术,纳米精度被誉为超精密加工技术“皇冠上的明珠”。过去,由于我国光学零件加工技术落后,无法进行大口径、高精度、复杂面形的光学零件加工,严重制约相关领域的技术进步。20世纪80年代以来,该校精密工程创新团队在李圣怡教授率领下,经过30多年顽强拼搏与自主创新,先后突破高精度机床精密运动机构设计、高效磁流变抛光液配制、离子束稳定控制、光学元件亚纳米全频段误差控制等核心关键技术,研制出一系列具有自主知识产权的磁流变、离子束抛光设备,打破了发达国家对超精密加工设备的技术封锁,使我国成为继美、德之后全面掌握磁流变和离子束抛光装备两种高精度光学零件加工技术的国家。

But that is exactly why I say I believe in Chang sifu.

Chinese people are cheap. Everyone knows that.

In his interview where Chang sifu say that American engineers are shit at what they do in semiconductors, Chang sifu complains that what they will make the product is too expensive, if they can make them at all.

Here is Chang sifu, a billionaire several time overs, and richer than President Trump, acting cheap and expounding the cheap ideology.

Chang sifu was actually laughing at the Americans when he made those comments.

Who knows, maybe Chang sifu laughing at President Trump because he is richer than him, because he knows how to be cheap.

Semiconductor manufacturing and equipments development is more related to materials, physics, and chemistry
And this type of fundamental science inside China are generally neglected and people don't really care for this type of fields
Data? Statistics? Sources? I find that statement hard to believe, particularly with regards to physics.

Some things i wanted to note

1. TSMC is a very aggressive company. It is trying to fend off and destroy/limit success of SMIC with the expansion of 28nm in 2022. Since SMIC is under sanctions. the government has to incetivise/create a good support for SMIC 28nm products.

2.I'e been following Asianometry channel for some time. He tries to put a balanced view often. But some commentors have remarked how he is Vietnamese/ not chinese and has a bias that he hides.

3. China can and has to explore Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide technologies too.
