Looks like Shanghai LPP unlikely cymer and gipgaphonton which use gas laser to
Vaporize the tinc source. The Shanghai institute uses fiber laser
________________________________________

The project to be purchased is the pump source and its drive control system of the key technology research project of LPP-EUV lithography light source undertaken by me, which is mainly used for the assessment and screening of optical fiber materials and high-power components and program verification. In order to simulate the pumping state of the initial sample of the project design plan, and more realistically evaluate the fiber materials, high-power passive components and optical components used in the initial and correct samples of the project, screening and aging evaluation, it is necessary to customize the pump that matches the brightness of the project design It is equipped with a more flexible and diverse drive power supply with control functions to meet the needs of different evaluation applications.
The procurement project includes two sets of 6kW pump sources and their drive control cabinets, two sets of 480W pump sources and their drive control units, and two sets of 900W×6 cabinet-type drive control systems. The pump module adopts the 3×1 pump beam combination scheme, and finally realizes the output power of a single pump module is greater than 480W. Due to the urgent development schedule of the project, it is necessary to complete the delivery of the purchased products within one month. Shanghai Feibo Laser Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Feibo Company) is a professional manufacturer of high-power fiber laser products, with rich engineering experience in the design and development of high-power fiber lasers. In the early stage, Fibo Company participated in the design and demonstration of the departmental component scheme on similar projects, and undertook the corresponding outsourcing development. Therefore, it has a clear understanding of the index requirements and functional requirements of such high-power products, and can provide products that meet the technical requirements on time , And timely after-sales maintenance. Due to the short procurement cycle, strict index requirements, and various control functions, in order to ensure the rapid and reliable development of scientific research and ensure the smooth progress of the project, it is proposed to apply for this procurement task to be undertaken by Shanghai Feibo Laser Technology Co., Ltd., and the procurement method is determined to be single source
Yes.....i came across article as well.
They are doing something different and using Fibre Laser instead of the C02 Laser made by Trumpf.
Hope they succeed using this type of Laser.
Maybe this will be a indigenous way which will not cause IP Issues with Trumpf and Cymer.
Looks like the Shanghai Inst of Optics is ramping up their development of the LPP EUV Light Source.
This also pretty much confirms that the SMEE EUVL will be using a LPP Light Source.

@Oldschool I don't get it , if they are concern, why build one in Arizona? maybe they didn't expect that Intel will be building a new FABS beside them? or the American just outright lie about their intention? well all I can say is stupid is as stupid does.
Yes.....very strange that TSMC is forced by the US Govt to build a FAB next door to its competitor Intels FAB.
This will be histories biggest case of "Forced Technology Transfer".
Can someone report this to the WTO.
No wonder the US is obsessed about Forced Technology Transfer.
LOL!

Good, TSMC worrying US and EU fab expansion would create overcapacity and one can make little money. Put squeeze on everyone in western market . That would the start of decline of TSMC and Samsung. That would be ideal.

TSMC doesn't think from others perspective. Others do it for security. Can't expect everyone put all their eggs into TSMC

China should forbids Chinese companies from using TSMC at 28nm and above.

@Oldschool I think all country concern are going to do that , establish their own bloc regarding Semi conductors, if the Europeans establish their owned IC, where will TW ,SK and Japan placed their bets, with the US? they're competitors, without China they all chasing a smaller pie, Its a conundrum and I think the meeting with SK in China is gauging whether there is a middle ground. My guess is within the next 5 yrs, China will be declaring an import substitute , allowing foreign company to use SMEE /CETC EUVL or DUVL but must produced it inside China. A win win proposition especially for SK.

SMIC update:

The company also disclosed that the second-generation FinFET technology has entered the risk production stage. The reporter learned that the industry generally believes that a monthly wafer production range of 3,000 to 10,000 wafers is risk production stage.

It is reported that the advanced version of the company's first-generation FinFET technology further optimizes device performance, improves integration, and achieves chip performance improvement goals. The second generation of FinFET technology uses SAQP to form a fin structure for the first time to meet the needs of a smaller size structure. Compared with the previous generation technology, the density of transistors per unit area is greatly improved.

Wow.
TSMC to invest 100 billion dollars over 3 years to expand capacity...

Is this a play to crush any Chinese Fabs before they even grow?

I think TSMC has been over investing ... with the current geopolitics, obviously China, EU and the USA would want to have their own advanced companies like TSMC .. when that happen it is over for TSMC with a huge capacity and not enough order
