Nanoimprint tools capable of 45nm or less are already included in the latest BIS restrictions, although not for de-americanized tools (0% US origin content), which currently applies to DUV tools. But if Canon tries to export it to China surely US would reduce the percentage to 0% for it too.
I have been reading this thread to acquire information about this
"Chip War" between the U.S. of A. and China. Here is a newbie's
question:
How could the United States ban NIL technology from China which
was invented by Professor Stephen Chou. Although it was invented
in the U.S. of A. surely Prof. S. Chou (assuming he is Chinese or
Chinese-American and is still alive) could go to China to teach
people there how it is done.

Huge difference between R&D instruments, pilot scale instruments and production quality tools for the same process.

It's a tradeoff. R&D and pilot tools have to flexible to develop many different processes but can afford to be taken down for troubleshooting.

a production tool only needs to do 1 process, but has to do so 1 million times without fail and if it does fail, do so in a predictable, visible and easily fixed way.

Universities deal with R&D tools, small companies and R&D departments also use pilot scale, but only fabs use the production tools.

is already banned, NIl tools are in the wassenaar agreement. The good news
if that China already have the set of NIL tools companies on which SMIC and Huawei are investors. So up to China to decide how further the want to develop this technology.

Independent review of Loongson 3a6000. Pretty much the system meet or exceeds expectation from the earlier preview reports. Spec2006/Unixbenchmark is comparable to i3-10100f and Ryzen 5 3100. IPC (Instruction per a cycle) is noted as near "intel 13th gen performance".There are probably some billibilli reviews up already but this is written and can be translated to english via google for the interested.

I have read the integrated graphix is very weak so it seems people are using a cheap (< 100 usd) older graphix cards like RX 580 on these system.

Taobao is selling the Motherboard + CPU combo for 1500 rmb, which i think is pretty reasonable for new and niche system. The cpu + board combo of those western ones are running around 150-200$. As LoongArch is the only true notable Chinese ISA, I hope it becomes a bigger success or the gov will cram these for gov/edu uses if they are not already doing so.
