Comment: Unsurprising. Qualcomm gets ~50% of annual revenues from the Greater China market. What I enjoyed was Nvidia's hard-elbow tactics:

Nvidia’s interest in think tanks raised some alarm, with word spreading across Washington that the company had questioned the research of Gregory C. Allen, a fellow at C.S.I.S. who supports export restrictions, four of these people said.

It seems clear that the people running policy in the Beltway know very little about technology. Most of them are from non-STEM backgrounds such as law or pol-sci.

Maybe US will finally force asml to stop DUVi sells to china and allows Nvidia Qualcomm to sell in china freely.
China can do it now by mass producing DUVi before the end of this year otherwise domestic market share will loss.

surely, you can do better than just linking to stupid SCMP articles.

SMIC will have all the 2050i it needs by end of this year. Do we really have to lower ourselves to SCMP level of intelligence. I'm honestly embarrassed by this.

good post here discussing some of huawei's products for AI chips.

Ascend-910 for cloud computing
Ascend-610 for ADAS
Ascend-310 for edge computing

it also mentioned 920, 620 and 320, but I don't believe any of that is publicized yet, so I assume they have yet to be launched

Self-explanatory:

I'd also just like to mention my own suspicion/conspiracy theory that all the US chip sanctions are nothing to do with national security (yeah, we know...) or supressing China economically and technologically, but rather more parochially about keeping the markets and share prices high for Apple, NVidia, Qualcomm, Micron et al by locking out competition from Huawei and other Chinese firms. Many US pensions and personal fortunes depend on those stocks.

As part of my thread on Huawei AITO M7 ADAS, I talked about the chip tech used in there

uses some combination of Ascend-310 or Ascend-610 (only sold for mobile data center) and Kunpeng or Kirin CPUs

Performance is top notch. From what I can see, better than those QCOM snapdragon SoCs for cars
