Do those companies have any special expertise in Chip production? A chemical engineering company can work everywhere including Chip factory or a washing ditergent production line. In today's atomesphere of US and its media, even somebody who swipes Huawei's factory floor is sanctionable. BTW, the source is Bloomberg, so I think this report is mostly trendy click-bait.

Kernel-based Virtual Machine support for loongarch is coming for the 6.7 kernel release. This should improve loongson's capability in the server/cloud space as it will allow it to more effectively run many VMs as they introduce more large multi core server oriented processors.

I've heard several people in EU/NA have got their LoongArch boards via AliExpress, but I'd suggest waiting until the next generation that's Loongson 3A6000. The 3A5000 (and its server-class equivalent 3C5000/3C5000L) is basically a 3A4000 with modded decoder stage so it recognizes LoongArch instead of (also modded) MIPS64r5, and that micro-architecture is dated and not very competitive performance-wise, a bit like my 2011 laptop with quad-core Core i7. The 3A6000 board instead feels very much like some quad-core x86 from 2018 or so, so I'd really recommend waiting until such models are released...

hmm, they already used domestic CMOS sensor. I guess they can design one themselves too, but I wouldn't exactly trust a weibo source with just a few thousand followers

The products on the market have received a large number of inquiries and intended orders because of their cavity structures and production capacity planning tailored for related industries; the highly innovative 12-inch Si/SiGe epitaxial equipment, fully independently developed by Yuanlei Nano, has filled a domestic gap. The technical advantages have attracted consultation from many wafer and epitaxial wafer factories.
Si/SiGe epitaxy was one the tools export controlled by Holland and Japan this year.

BetoneTech is another promising deposition tool manufacturer that makes CVD, PVD and ALD. Deposition and inspection/measurement seem to be the most popular areas for front-end semi equipment startups.

Yaoguang Semiconductor announces delivery of self-developed SiC laser annealing equipment​



On September 26, the public account of Yaoguang Semiconductor Company (hereinafter referred to as "Yaoguang Semiconductor") stated that the company's first batch of self-developed SiC laser annealing equipment ES500-2 came off the production line, and a delivery ceremony was held.
SiC laser annealing equipment ES500-2 adopts the idea of forward research and development, independently develops integrated systems and optical path designs, innovatively uses Six Sigma robustness development and reliability design, and combines self-developed and produced core components to achieve long-term, safe, stable, Reliable operation to meet customer requirements.
Yaoguang Semiconductor (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. was established on April 28, 2023, and is engaged in the manufacturing and sales of special equipment for semiconductor devices.
The company signed a contract in April and has now delivered products at a staggering speed.
It is reported that Yaoguang is a key project introduced by the Moganshan Research Institute of Zhejiang University of Technology this year. It is mainly engaged in the research and development, production and sales of third-generation wide bandgap semiconductor process equipment. At present, the company has completed the Yaoguang closed-loop temperature control system and has Yaoguang's power chip backside laser annealing method, independent innovation of Yaoguang's SiC epitaxial growth scheme, inert gas barrier technology and many other proprietary technologies.
According to the official Weibo, Yaoguang Semiconductor's equipment under development, "Star SiC MOCVD" (ES600), will continue to increase its independent research and development efforts and further provide localized solutions for core components. The ES600 is planned to complete research and development in the fourth quarter of this year, which is expected to fill the gap in this domestic market.
