I don't it funny. I find it depressing and frustrating. Its like the perennial underdog who is constantly trying to impress his peers only to be dismissed no what progress he makes. The lack of respect regarding any Chinese progress from these anti-China think tanker crowd only makes you want to see even more Chinese progress that will be a big slap in the face of these people.

Why do you want China to be respected by these sort of people in the first place?

The entire raison d'etre of these people is that they want to attain a means to express fear and loathing towards their chosen adversary of the decade. They loathe an adversary and treat them with spite if they are not strong enough to challenge or overwhelm them, and once an adversary is capable is capable of it then they fear them.

But they will never treat an adversary with respect on their own terms.

So as vincent asks, why care about what they think, and in future post these sort of articles which you already know are of poor credibility, to a different thread rather than this one.

And why is that a bad thing? Reality is not based on what you believe and it is better to be underestimated than overestimated.

I think it's actually relevant in the sense this guy is most likely one of the chip experts they brought in when they were designing the chip sanctions. Should be sending him a thank you basket if he's part of the reason for the sanctions being so poorly designed and implemented.

I find it depressing and frustrating that everyday I try to keep this thread on track about semiconductor and it keeps get thrown off by people posting bad takes by nobodies online. Yeah, this guy follows me and I had to smack him down for spreading this nonsense about 10% yield of K9000S.

I don't really understand why these people's opinions even matter. There are those like Dylan Patel, who I seriously disagree with, but I can at least take seriously, because they try to have informed opinions. And then there are people who already decided what they want to think.

Anyone can write stupid stuff online and get a kick out of it. That does not mean we should be posting that kind of low quality content on here

Because in general they would have to admit that they were in the wrong, that they have low understanding of the industry that they are giving policies recommendations, that their research methods are very shallow and shortsighted and their policies recommendations could to lead to job and revenue losses. Is like Gordon Chan, he will rather die a painful death than to admit that he has been wrong for decades.
But what anyone can do.

He says, like most of his peer, uni-dimensional statements, in this case about China lacking ALD and epitaxial equipment without providing any details what kind of ALD or epi tools or for what part of the process or for what materials. like you have to take their words for granted.

ALD equipment has been one of the most fastest growing semiconductor equipment segment in China.

In the Epi market.

Alphasemi has been shipping their tools to major fabs since 2022

and AMEC is going to enter the frontend EPI market too.

And these companies are growing faster than their foreign counterparts.

Also China localization rate stand a 40% not at 20%.

The multi-billion AI chip orders by Chinese tech firms might be in risk if US wants to play hardball
Again too late, those chips are produce using 7nm technology and as far as I know SMIC is trying to scale up production, and also who are the ultimate losers, definitely not the Chinese in fact it will give them a boost especially for those domestic GPU provider.
