And to add salt to injury once the have those solutions they will sell those to the Europeans and the US, directly or indirectly, to much of the horror of US and Europeans companies that once dominated the Chinese market.
What's happening now in the semiconductor equipment sector is almost an exact replay of what happened in the telecom equipment sector in the 1990's. Huawei and ZTE would not have had the chance to develop into the telecom equipment giants that they are today without the export restrictions the US imposed on telecom equipment back in the 1990's.

It's ironic that a firm that owes so much of its success to US export restrictions in the 1990s is now one of the main causes of the angst behind the US export restrictions of today.

Huawei probably just wants to use up its old stockpile of chips from Micron and Hynix. Don't overthink about it as I am sure Huawei wouldn't have a problem of finding an alternative domestic source.

DRAM and NAND chips are kinda special. These chips are designed to be replaceable, sold in huge volume, like bricks. They are distributed by lots of resellers. Huawei doesn't need to buy them from Micron or Hynix. They can just get them from some resellers in China. Hell, you can even just visit alibaba to order millions of these chips.;)

"too young, too simple, sometimes naive"

Do we expect more big announcement this year from China semi industry?
That Huawei FAB its own Chip, ;) so let's wait until their Sep 14 press conference in Barcelona to know the full story.
With the release of Mate 60 pro it feels like China just won their Stalingrad in this tech war.
I think we will hear some big news again in 2024.
SSA 900 22nm Duvi baby....lol This mythical Beast always pique my interest when @WTAN first post about its possible existence in 2020, we can surmise that SMEE had the capability to produced such machine after successfully finished the development of SSA800. As for a Chinese EUVL, we know it is due to appear either next year or 2025 so its a given. ;)

You know what brother ansy1968, I just thought of something.

We are too interested in the tech ku fung fighting, that we forget about the business side of things, and the geopolitics of it.

1. As that analyst in that article said, Huawei will no longer buy SoC from Qualcomm. And this is a lot of orders. Over time, Hisilicone will eat away at Qualcomm business, potentially lowering Qualcomm's orders even more.

2. Qualcomm places their orders at TSMC!? Cue the dramatic music! This Mate 60 Pro, is an attack on the entire system!

3. As of today, everyone is adding capacity, including TSMC. Looks to be certain, since China is doing the internal circulation, that there will be excess capacity. Will the mainland China ask TSMC, hey, want to do some business?

4. That is going to happen, they will make inquiries. During the discussions, it will be implied, that if we cannot help each other out with DUV production, the we cannot proceed to a same understanding with EUV production. Man, the Chinese are not easy to deal with.

5. That EUV machine inside China they working on, it is going to shock, and probably soon.

Like, holy shit.

I know comrade tphuang kind of talks about this all the time, but we too interested in the kung fu fighting, lol.

:D:p

Bravo Bro great insight, I want to ask your opinion, will TSMC open a FAB in China using SMEE SSA800 DUVI or SSA1000 EUVL? in other word the whole Chinese eco system?;) IF yes, what will be the American reaction? It make economic sense for TSMC to do so? That is the strategic question that China will ask of TSMC, will they bite the golden apple or they will let it rot.;)
