Huawei finally purchasing domestic analog chips from sgmicro. Before the sanction Huawei doesn't even talk to them.

Looking at their portfolio , it's pretty extensive. More than any domestic players. Opamp high-speed & low power, power management, adc/dac,
motor/video/audio/led driver, comparator, voltage reference, DC/DC step up/down,battery charger.
They don't have wireless analog physical part but Huawei does.
It makes sense if Huawei acquire this company and combined their core analog IP with hisilicon to create mixed signal chips and flood the Chinese market.

This create the potential for car chips.

Sigmicro analog IP complements hisilicon mostly digital IP very well.
Combined them can create mixed signal chip.

Sgmicro tech is 0.18/0.25um. BCD or bipolar combined with cmos .

A very doable path.

What happen to their agreement with STMicroelectronics?

28 Apr 2020 — TAIPEI -- Huawei Technologies is working with French-Italian chipmaker STMicroelectronics to co-design mobile and automotive-related chips as it seeks. ... the nuclear option to block Huawei's key chip contract manufacturers from ... are yet to be finalized and the president would have to sign off on them.

Currently the analog market which is $10billion dominated by big guys from US TI, ADI, maxim.
Small domestic players can't compete with them.
But the potential is there to completely be self sufficient provided a big domestic player come in.

I am hsistant for this type of joint venture. Huawei will not able touch STmicro' s IP. To modify it and package for new product. Can't do that. Acquring sgmicro domestically would give Huawei more options.
But in this case I guess better than nothing. This case mostly for automotive

I have not heard much progress since then. Maybe still in progress..

Domestic high end CNC systems has increased to about 30%.

毛予锋称,如今我国高端机床的国产化程度不断提高。截至目前,国产五轴联动加工中心、高档数控系统等代表性产品的国内市场占有率已提升至30%左右。
I dig around for China 5axis CNC.this CCTV clips shown China first 5 axis CNC in 2015.

Its resolution is 3 micron. Do you have the latest for 2020?

The materials I posted earlier say the machining for EUV mirror resolution is 10nm.

Between 3 um to 10nm is still a big gap.
There is a distinction between high precision CNC and ultra precision CNC. Micron range resolution versus nanometer range resolution.

You said it yourself, high precision CNC and ultra precision CNC machines are different things, so you're comparing apples with oranges here.

I don't think ultra precision surface polishing is a big problem for China. Here is a fairly recent review about China's progress on all the ultra precision manufactoring techs you mentioned:

Foofy gave me a list of China industrial 5axis high precision CNC but they are below spec for optical. That's why I made a comparison.

I read your article. The specialized CNC machine from that article probably not available in normal industry . Kpj2000
It has marking of non readable but Chinese characters indeed at lower left corner

The other one has Chinese characters labels on the right side.

that they have the equipments needed for the research.

Can someone translate?. 楚半导体 is the first one to have complete verification of CETC domestic litho on 8 inch?

Maybe smee SSA600 not even verified
CETC 45nm Dry Lithograph is undergoing verification by this Semiconductor Company.
After this, in the future, there are plans for them to verify the CETC 28nm Immersion Lithograph.
Beijing and Shanghai will be the 2 new Bases for Lithograph production.

As the article mentioned, these machines are made with cooperation between academic institutions and domestic equipment manufacturers. They are used for the mass production of ultra precision optical components, not just for research prototyping.

I don't know how many/if any of the machines shown were sold to "normal industry" (whatever that means), but I see no reason to doubt China's capability to meet industry needs if such a need arise.

It's always good to hear from you. You really should post more often.
