What does this news has anything to do with Chinese semiconductor industry?Did you mistaken Samsung as Chinese company?
News about other countries is still important. In this case, anything that takes market share away from Taiwan is good, espically for high end chips. Seems to me like China can pressure SK a lot harder than they can Taiwan.

What? How is Samsung invest more money in advanced chips a good thing for China?

It means more players besides TSMC will race ahead of China, and leave China further behind in the race of semiconductors. It is not what China wish to happen.

It means Western semiconductor equipment companies will be relieved despite losing Chinese market. It is also not what China wants to see,China wants to see Western semiconductor equipment companies crumble when they abandon Chinese market.

zero logic in this.

Samsung announced to spend 230 Billion USD in semiconductor manufacturing industry by 2042. if we calculate, then average 11.5 Billion USD per year. this is what you called racing ahead. just peanuts what Chinese firms are spending right now.

this is Huawei's 14nm Kirin chip, and Huawei Enjoy 60's real phone

well, whatever they use really shouldn't be Kirin 710A anymore since SMIC process has improved over 2 years ago. The yield is much better and it's 12nm process instead of 14nm process. On top of that, stacking two chiplet should also improve performance.

We shouldn't compare it to Kirin 650. We should compare it to like Kirin 810 or 820

maybe, Kirin 830 will also come out later this year... it can use SMIC's 10nm process... if i guess right
