China does not need to go 100% domestic. It's just not necessary. It just needs to be domestic enough where any sanctions would be not effective. It also needs to make sure that domestic tool makers have a chance against more established and refined products and services from abroad.

Anyways, good comment here from Paul. Good chance the new restrictions just blocked new orders and not existing ones. That would allow all the orders smic placed with asml to be completed over time hopefully.

American semi companies are complaining about other companies seeing not the same level of restrictions. Lam and amat are crying out loud they got screwed over.

2. Try to gain time, gain as much time as possible delaying things. US is pushing to speed up and escalate, China should de-escalate with the aim of gaining time. US has a sense of urgency because is well aware that time is gold here.
I don't see any way for the Chinese to de-escalate this situation with the US. the Chinese have done nothing except helping their companies to survive. What else the Chinese can do? Let Huawei die? But that can embolden the Hawks to engage full economic war against China.

From known sources previously posted, dry ArF is likely no later than in the customer verification stage, and immersion ArF is no later than in prototype stage. Havoc sometimes has contradictory information, otherwise there's not much coming out from the inside.
The only confirmation I found come from IMECAS.

The company's Universal-150 series CMP equipment can meet the needs of the third-generation semiconductor production line, and the Universal-200 series CMP equipment is mainly for 8-inch production line customers. Compatible with 6-inch production lines.

In terms of orders, Huahai Qingke said that as the number of the company's customers continues to grow, new orders have increased year-on-year, and it is expected that the order signing situation in 2022 will be relatively optimistic. Iirc, havok confirmed 60w 6khz light source for the production prototype to be delivered either end of last year or around now.

Once, yandong 65nm line goes into production, I think dry arf should be considered to be in mass production and validated.

it is a new prototype... it has been delivered since Q4/2022....

6000-9000 RMB for is huge money for the education they're looking for, it's not low cost at all. First line is "初中及以上学历” or "middle school graduate or higher" ....You can only flip burgers with that in the US.
