China does not need to go 100% domestic. It's just not necessary. It just needs to be domestic enough where any sanctions would be not effective. It also needs to make sure that domestic tool makers have a chance against more established and refined products and services from abroad.
Anyways, good comment here from Paul. Good chance the new restrictions just blocked new orders and not existing ones. That would allow all the orders smic placed with asml to be completed over time hopefully.
