China need to master all of this if they want to be self sufficient and not just cpu..
1.Central processing units (CPUs)
2. Chipsets for motherboards
3. Hard disk drives (HDDs)
4. Solid-state drives (SSDs)
5. Video cards (graphics cards)
6. Graphics processing units (GPUs)
7. Random-access memory (RAM) chips
8. USB flash drives

For computer, I hardly see any chinese company here‍♂️..majority of them are taiwan, usa, korea, japan and germany.

If you go back hundred pages back you will see China has all of the 8 computer component above I am too lazy to dig it. They are not known in the west does not mean they don't exist due to language barrier and huge domestic market that they serve

Hi WTAN,

From our previous discussion, regarding the EUVL everything is ready except for the light source, has CIOMP able to make progress on its DPP project? or its a dead end and they are looking for other solution?(cause of delay)
From what i know they have not yet decided on which light source to use.
There is so far no news in regard to the DPP EUV light source.
The different Institutes that are developing the light sources are probably in some type of competition to promote their respective product. Quite common to see this in China especially in the armaments industry.
R&D work is still going on in all aspects of the EUVL components as this involves many new technologies.
The suppliers of components for the SMEE DUVL will also be supplying components for the EUVL.
Guowang Optics(Changchun Inst) will supply the Optics.
Huazhou Precision will supply the EUV Dual Stage Workpiece Table.

SMIC already has a production line for 7nm Chips using Foreigh equipment. They will go ahead with mass production next year of N+1 as by doing so they will learn alot about producing Chips at this node.

Imo, China's semiconductor equipment manufacturer should be able to provide most of the technical support for this Foreign equipment.

They should be able to literally manufacture from scratch some of the equipment parts for the maintenance repair especially the mechanical ones and possibly the whole of the electronics interface if they have to. These are only temporary measures while waiting for the local equipment to come online.

No..SMIC only has 14nm chips fab. SMIC will start production of 14nm N+1 theoretically performance same as 10nm but still far 3 or 4 years behind TSMC 10nm technology. To produce 10nm and above need EUV lithography .SMIC will stuck at 14nm forever until until they produce their own EUV or America lift sanction, but i dont think it will happen even Biden become president. America will never let china leading in semiconductor technology same as iran cant proceed building nuclear weapon. The only alternative is china need to"STAND ON YOUR OWN TWO FEET" and build their own euv because no one want will help china anyways.
