What interest me is the return of the 8 series Kirin 7nm chip that @olalavn posted previously (again Sir you nailed it ;) ), I don't know the performance level or IF its a 7nm 3d chiplet ( definitely must be better than TSMC 7nm chip cause IF not why bother launching it) BUT either way the long awaited return is confirmed and I for one will be celebrating by buying one of their products.:cool:

this news has been made public by some digital bloggers but i am not sure if it is 14nm or not

Texas Instruments: The expansion project of the packaging/testing plant in the Chengdu manufacturing base will complete the installation and commissioning within the year​


Texas Instruments (TI) recently stated at the China International Import Expo that the expansion project of the packaging/testing plant of the Chengdu manufacturing base will complete the installation and commissioning of the equipment within this year, and will be put into operation in the first quarter of next year. After full production in Chengdu The packaging/test capacity of the manufacturing base will be doubled.

It is reported that in the field of wafer manufacturing, Texas Instruments Chengdu factory is the only world-class manufacturing base of Texas Instruments in the world that integrates wafer manufacturing, processing, packaging and testing.

On October 25, Texas Instruments announced that its third-quarter operating income was $5.24 billion, net profit was $2.3 billion, and earnings per share were $2.47. Earnings per share included a 2-cent gain on items outside the company's original guidance range.

Weird, I'm not sure how TI is allowed to continue to operate in China?
