Reportedly, Japanese companies approaching China on collaboration on EUV. Basically Japan provide the research and China provide money. ASML kicked Nikon and Cannon out of the lithograph equipment market. And japanese companies want to make a come back. China would provide the money and market for such collaborated EIV effort.

Hi nastya1,

Only the LPP light source, Japan Gigaphoton had successfully produce a 250KW LPP, it will be a waste since ASML had exclusive contract with CYMER of US, nobody will use it. They had seen an opportunity if they work with SMEE, their DPP light source had been problematic, so it solve both of their problems.

I think it will help both as japanese R&D in fundamental science is quite strong. They have alot of tools and equipments at their disposal for the research and quickly make the prototypes

Hi nastya1,

Amen to that bro, the question is will the American allowed it? And joint development with local production of critical core parts so it won't be subjected to sanction.

The problem I see with Japanese corporate culture, is the lack of two bodily organs --- a pair of balls and a backbone.
Hi Tam,

A personal question, the way you post is strikingly similar to Crobato, are you him? ;)

Okay, back to topic, I miss the old Japan, their tech is well ahead of everyone else. It takes a pen to relinquished all that and accept its humiliation. I hope this time they get their mojo back while working with China, one can only hope:rolleyes:
