Chinese semiconductor industry

Anybody remember how the US banned multi-axis machine tools for China. They thought those where complicated high tech too hence why the ban hoping to halt China's future. Then soon after China developed multi-axis machine tools and killed the international market for the US because they were cheaper. Taiwan sees the end coming for them.

By your logic American biotech is shattered because of Theranos and American green energy is all nonsense after Solyndra. Fraud happens in the innovation space, across all countries, all the time. It’s not a meaningful gauge of anything.

Like every other thread, One jingoist I*dian comes in to make a mess. I could understand if the arguments and points were made in good faith but more often than not it is made in bad faith - to divert, muddy, distract.

Lemme introduce to those not in the know to a famous name - THERANOS.

Did the big fraud by result in the stunting of US biotech sector?
Two people were implicated in the Theranos fraud - Elizabeth Holmes and Ramesh Balwani (Indian immigrant ) which managed to con both the Massively powerful US government as well as the California Silicon Valley (teeming with scientists, engineers and lawyers).




It is only after very young 20 something year old courageous whistleblowers came forward that the whole sham started to fall apart.



I think the members participating in the thread should be able to better sense "bad faith arguments " from some individuals.

Whether it be extreme pro/anti China biases. It threatens to derail the thread from the core subject (Semiconductors).

,Yes and maybe an EUVL as well, the timetable is everybody guess, I'm not a betting man but for me late 2021 an announcement, 2022 deployment.

The US is ridden with these companies. Some start out as legit and then go bad, others are bad from the get go. Rotary Rocket. Pioneer Rocketplane. Kistler Aerospace. More semiconductor related: EEStor (it is still going on).

Another big fraud that was recently revealed is Nikola Motors. Hailed as the next Tesla with their cutting edge hydrogen technology. The CEO pumped the price of the stock to $65.00 with a lot of blustering and boasting about his top secret technology. Turns out they didn't even have a working product. They released a video that supposedly showed the truck driving down the highway, but they actually towed a dead truck to the top of the hill and let it roll down while tilting the camera to give the illusion that it was flat ground. They recently fired the CEO in a desperate attempt to save the stock price. To be honest, I'm amazed it's still at $19.00. I guess there are still a lot of gullible Muricans in denial who desperately wanted to "get in on the ground floor" on the next Tesla but refused to buy stock in Chinese NEV companies that actually make real, functioning cars because China bad.

I highly recommend reading this whole article, or at the very least the bullet points at the top. Very amusing.
