I hope the company is just relying on American parts as a stopgap measure while waiting for domestic suppliers to come online..
Probably part of the agreement to allow Honor make use of google mobile services, that they will start using US semi conductors again.
Many times in life you have to know how to "make the best of a bad situation" (in European languages we have different way of saying regarding this concept, this is the English one). I'm quite confident there is something similar also in Chinese.
