China’s import volume of integrated circuits (ICs) in the first two months of 2022 fell 4.6 per cent compared with the same period last year, marking the first year-on-year drop since the beginning of 2020, according to official customs data.

Still way too early to say, but fingers crossed we are starting to see the first signs of self-sufficiency. Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.

The investors include InnoAngel Fund and Fosun Capital, The well-known Chinese IC investment institution Oriza Holdings also joined the financing. The capital raised will be used to upgrade high-precision and large-capacity simulation platforms from digital circuits to analog and RF circuits.

BTD was established in 2020 by serial entrepreneurs in the EDA and AI fields and is committed to building a new generation of EDA platforms. The company's core products are high-accuracy chip simulation and signoff tools based on distributed computing, as well as high-performance interconnection and computing IPs.

BTD’s target customers cover the three major semiconductor fields of chip design, manufacturing, packaging, and testing.

The company has successfully launched BTDSim, the first full-featured RF circuit simulation software in China, and BTDesign, the only post-Moore design and digital-analog hybrid verification platform in China. Its product has won the favor of the first-tier companies in the semiconductor industry.

Chen Datong, chairman of Oriza Holdings, said that EDA tools are indispensable parts of the semiconductor industry, China’s domestic EDA software demand is increasing rapidly. With an experienced team able to launch new products, BTD is expected to become a leading EDA provider in China.

Tsai is nothing more than a CIA puppet
My memory is a bit fuzzy but I remembered seeing a show on a Taiwan channel about Tsai's background. I think her grandfather was a collaborator with Imperial Japan and serviced Japanese war planes.

Tsai, as far as I know, is currently the only President of a country who refused to sing its national anthem. She probably hates her own country.

When the Nationalists took over Taiwan, they allowed all the Japanese to remain (I can't remember the number, I think it was at least around 100K or more). These Japanese decedents have mostly blended in with the original locals but if you look closely at their appearance and their last names, you can probably spot them.

Many in the DPP are suspected of being of Japanese descent and they rather join Japan than China.

In the morning of March 10, Dinglong Co., Ltd. announced that the alumina polishing liquid product of Wuhan Dingze New Material Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the company, was verified in the Al CMP process of a company's 28nm node HKMG process. pass through.

It is reported that polishing liquid is an important material in the wafer planarization process in integrated circuit manufacturing. Its components include abrasive particles and chemical components, so the control of its properties is the key to determining the chemical capability and mechanical effect in the chemical mechanical planarization process. . From silicon wafer manufacturing, to integrated circuit device construction, to chip packaging, polishing liquid is considered to be the whole process material that runs through the chip "from sand to core". Among them, the abrasive particles are the core of the polishing liquid, which is recognized as the "technical moat" in the world. At present, the company's grinding particles have achieved a major breakthrough in the key core technology of "stuck neck", which can meet the customized needs of customers.

Dinglong Co., Ltd. has been focusing on the core CMP global planarization process materials of integrated circuits in recent years as the development focus and extension direction. Relying on the company's 20 years of technical accumulation in the field of chemical materials and engineering, the company's holding subsidiary Wuhan Dingze New Material Technology Co., Ltd. The company's alumina polishing liquid products have passed the verification of the Al CMP process of a company's 28nm node HKMG process.

localization rate of processors, memories, FPGAs, high-end analog chips, and GPUs in high-end general-purpose fields is less than 5% or even less than 1%.
For Companies that only had a few year in the market getting 5% of a competitive market like the GPU market is great start.

About 70% of the manufacturing equipment for 28nm and above processes comes from American manufacturers, and nearly 50% of the components used involve American technology.
That is absolutely great, that means that means that in just 5 years Chinese SME manufacturers manage to catch 30% of the market and 50% of the component market.
while NAND storage will take five years. , while DRAM, MPUs for computers and servers, advanced processes, semiconductor equipment/materials/equipment components, and EDA tools may take a decade.
"it will take xx years" means nothing, do you think in ten years all the sudden a EDA tool will appear from nothing?, I could mean that in just 5 years they could become as good synopsis and take at least 30% of the market share. Is a continuous development process that already started, that if favorable conditions like the U.S pressure continue it could push their industry even further.

localization rate of processors, memories, FPGAs, high-end analog chips, and GPUs in high-end general-purpose fields is less than 5% or even less than 1%. There are still significant gaps in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, materials, and EDA tools. About 70% of the manufacturing equipment for 28nm and above processes comes from American manufacturers, and nearly 50% of the components used involve American technology.

According to Gartner's forecast, China has achieved about 10% of the global market share in cellular baseband chips and consumer electronics chips such as CIS, AP, and smart cards. In the next three years, advanced packaging will also achieve this achievement, while NAND storage will take five years. , while DRAM, MPUs for computers and servers, advanced processes, semiconductor equipment/materials/equipment components, and EDA tools may take a decade.
