Chinese purchase of Su-35

And... that will change anything?

I mean... even if the so called 'experts' agreed with the Russian that the Su-35 is a heaven sent and that it would be good if China can have it in their inventory, they do not represent the PLAAF and definitely not the China government.

I do agree that Su-35 is a great fighter but it had a great problem when inducted into Chinese inventory - it cannot fire Chinese weaponries (missiles and the such) and I have this feeling that it is also not compatible with the Chinese infrastructure.

But we would never know if the Chinese would in future get this aircraft or not since the rumors had been flying for ages and up till now, we see no solid proof of a contract being signed and the Chinese government or Russian government openly admit to having a deal at all.

Not being able to use locally produced weapons would be a deal killer in my mind. It's one thing if China like most countries do not produce their own missiles but that is not the case. While SU-35 is a good weapons platform it's not exactly a niche product either satisfying a very specific mission requirement that is currently not available in all of China's inventory.
If SU-35 can shoot ion lasers, turn into a Transformer, bake cookies or have cloaking ability then sure it's a good buy regardless of weapons compatibility.

As it is, it would be a logistical and operational nightmare to induct weapons from Russia or any country for that matter specifically just for the SU-35 while everything else can use Chinese made missiles. Unless Russia is willing or can make Chinese weapons compatible with the SU-35 I think it would be a big mistake for China to buy it as reported so far.

100% agree with what you have said and it further reinforce what I have posted too. Using common sense, the deal seemed to have little chance of being realised. But I do admit that few of us would have any access to what the top people in China military planning, so the final result was a big question marks.

However, Su-35 is a great platform (no matter how I look at it) and I wouldn't be so boastful or arrogant to say that the Chinese would have nothing to learn from that plateform (note: I am not implying you or anyone in the forum for saying that)... so if the aircraft "do" being inducted into PLAAF (I wouldn't really be surprise)... moreover, I have this feeling that as and when the aircraft was being inducted, technology (whatever it is) from Su-35 can be used to 'upgrade' future Chinese flankers or even their new generation fighters.

According to the link above, there's a Russian media that says China and Russia has signed for 100 (!!!) Su-35, wonder if it's another fake news. Check it out if you can read Chinese or use google translate

Only one sentence is related to 100 Su-35 exportation. However, it does not indicate all of these aircraft are sold to China as titled.

If there exists a second or even a third buyer, who are they?

You know what I think. China might buy 100 Su-35, if the following conditions are met !

1. This deal include 24 Su-35 made in Russia, and the rest Made in China.
2. Plus full technology transfer including: 117S production line and more !

Or this is just another B.S news from the russian media.

China might first get 4 Su-35 by the end of this year, and 24 by 2015, then see if they match up the perfromance of the Russian claims. If they do, China might order more and get the 117S production line as well. This way, China can produce 117S engine 100% domesticly and ride off reliance on Russian engines once and for all.

Where did they get that "news"? I'm from Russia and I didn't find this information in any our main media.

P.S. In reality, Mikhail Pogosyan said only that the Russian United Aircraft aims to sell 100 Su-35s outside Russia (not only to China).
Погосян считает, что будут заключены контракты на поставку за рубеж порядка 100 истребителей Су-35.

Which is most probably BS... anyway... when will people learn... unless officially admitted by both nations and/or first delivery of the aircraft or any weaponries in questions, all other spectaculation are just... well... spectaculation. And also many are cooked up fantasy by some one out there for whatever agenda they might have... and these type of BS is basically not worth even a look at or being 'shared'.

And I would also caution anyone out there that by reading something, please also think through and not jump immediately into conclusion.

Oh... and a quick search online for the Voice of Russia website. They never did mention anything like the supposedly sales of 100 Su-35 to China. This is the closest thing to the Paris air show by Voice of Russia,

So... tell me... where did Voice of Russia actually reported the sale of Su-35 to China? More and more I am starting to doubt the accuracy of

The link that was posted did not show photos of a certain Chinese delegation; not saying that it's untrue but it sounds very suspicious.
Well, my friends were there and saw 'em. That's enough - at least, for me.

Until the Chinese government retracts its denial of such a rumor, this deal will remain such at most.
I see intergovernmental agreement signed in January.

Even if there were Chinese officials watching it; it doesn't prove anything since a Chinese team was also sent to observe the F-35 and yet no purchase was made.
eek... Chinese team sent to buy F-35?
