And... that will change anything?
I mean... even if the so called 'experts' agreed with the Russian that the Su-35 is a heaven sent and that it would be good if China can have it in their inventory, they do not represent the PLAAF and definitely not the China government.
I do agree that Su-35 is a great fighter but it had a great problem when inducted into Chinese inventory - it cannot fire Chinese weaponries (missiles and the such) and I have this feeling that it is also not compatible with the Chinese infrastructure.
But we would never know if the Chinese would in future get this aircraft or not since the rumors had been flying for ages and up till now, we see no solid proof of a contract being signed and the Chinese government or Russian government openly admit to having a deal at all.
Not being able to use locally produced weapons would be a deal killer in my mind. It's one thing if China like most countries do not produce their own missiles but that is not the case. While SU-35 is a good weapons platform it's not exactly a niche product either satisfying a very specific mission requirement that is currently not available in all of China's inventory.
If SU-35 can shoot ion lasers, turn into a Transformer, bake cookies or have cloaking ability then sure it's a good buy regardless of weapons compatibility.
As it is, it would be a logistical and operational nightmare to induct weapons from Russia or any country for that matter specifically just for the SU-35 while everything else can use Chinese made missiles. Unless Russia is willing or can make Chinese weapons compatible with the SU-35 I think it would be a big mistake for China to buy it as reported so far.
