I'm curious about the cost difference between C28A with all Chinese made sensors and weapons (HHQ-7 been replaced by 24-cell HHQ-10) and 056A? I mean if you count the design and development cost of designing a brand new vessel like 056 series, wouldn't it be better just use the old but still very capable design and modify it to suit the modern requirements like C28A? Whats more, you will end up with a much bigger ship with more future upgrade potential than a smaller one which has already been stratched to its limit.
