The wall display on a CASC booth appears to show an amphibious UAV landing on water. Interesting.

That amphibious UAV is the Rainbow CH-YH 1000.

By the way, this is the specs of CH-9.

I'm not sure where that 7-10t MTOW came from but it sounded fishy to me to begin with.

I'm unsure if there's some sort of actual difference between the export version and the domestic version, but I doubt it would account for the domestic version having a MTOW twice that of the export version. If anything they should be very similar.

btw, if you look at the missiles they have been showcasing CH-9 with, it's not just the circle Taiwan and drop PGMs stuff. They even have a shrunken hypersonic missile profiled with it.

And I would imagine this shrunken hypersonic can be carried on other larger UCAVs like Jiutian. Whether they choose to do that is a different story. We haven't seen or heard enough at this point to know how they intend to use the next generation of UCAVs that will have longer range/endurance & possibly greater payload than something like GJ-2.

“Nine Day” SS-UAV. 九天could very well be 九重天。9 is the largest number in a single digit. 九重天 is a numerical term that indicate sky is the limit. How high the sky is, thus that is how far is the edge of the limit shall be. Thus the SS-UAV is designed for a vast variety of tasks beyond the limit of most of other UAV.

中国传统说天有九霄,“九重天”是数量词,九重天中的九字,只是因为它是数字单数中最大的 数字,所以有“极限”之意。九重天是指天有极多极多重
