China is one of the most important but least understood countries in the world. Its decisions will shape the future of international business, diplomacy, and security. This product helps decode the “black box” of Chinese politics through interactive visualizations and explainer essays that map formal institutions, informal networks, key decision-makers, and major policy trends. The homepage analyzes China’s top leadership, while subpages analyze specific policy areas: Economy and Trade; Energy and Environment; Finance; Foreign Affairs; Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and Tibet; Military; Security; and Technology.
I don't know if it's credible.

At first glance sounds kinda non credible since they apparently didn't even manage to find the correct translation on the communist party itself, which is, as you might know, a rather big part of Chinese politics.

I'm seeing a lot of fanfiction trying to out down the opinions of politicians into set "sub parties" when that's not how CPC works. Democratic centralism means politicians avoid factionalism as much as possible and try to move between political stances depending on the group consensus. So the vast majority of Chinese politicians are able/encouraged to change opinions often.

Qin Gang was allowed to "resign" rather than kicked out. Likely the "mistress" was just a mistress rather than the rumored spie

中国共产党第二十届中央委员会第三次全体会议,于2024年7月15日至18日在北京举行。全会决定,接受秦刚同志辞职申请,免去秦刚同志中央委员会委员职务。

Could also be some serious illness. He was still referred to as Comrade.

Good. Sounds like we got lucky this time then. A bit of a tangent but wonder if anyone has updates on the investigations of the removed PLARF generals? Especially the one whose son sold nuclear secrets to the US. What ever became of them? Is that bastard still in the US?

There are much more important things about the third plenum than Qin Gang.

the decision that they published contains some nuggets.

notably, the decision has given the timing of 2029 as the deadline by which all reforms as outlined are to be implemented. My guess Xi's plan is no attack on Taiwan until then, focus only on reform. once reform is being carried out, Xi will take Taiwan to solidify his place in the Communist party, which will also guard his reforms against regression.

Why does reform have to take place before reunification?

because there is no telling what would happen once a war starts, maybe it would escalate. when the demand of war puts stress on the institution then obviously ongoing reform efforts will have to pause. best to just make some good progress on reforms first then using a victory over Taiwan to immortalize them.

By your assumption, China will reunify during Xi's fourth term. Who's going to do the hard work after reunification? That is a much harder job than domestic reform. Taking Taiwan is the easy part, governing that island is the hard part. The 2027 deadline might sound like a meme, but it actually has a lot of merits.

Taking Taiwan is literally the hardest part, because it involves the hegemonic clash with the US. There is literally no harder job in the planet than managing this well..

Governing Taiwan would be hard but China has plenty of experience with dealing with unrest and unstable elements
