They're definitely both assault guns.

The IFV 40mm autocannon (if that's what the IFV armament is) should be somewhat smaller than the smoke grenades.

Yes, looking back at some of the older pics of the confirmed IFV the turret geometry is a bit different -- more square -- and also has two rectangular slots on the right side which might be for ATGMs or something.

What’s up with Norico’s tendency to produce equipment that’s technically more advanced than what the PLA have but interests neither foreign(for now) nor PLA buyers?

The PLA seem far more interested in procuring a large variety of wheeled IFVs instead and seem quite satisfied with the ZBD04. Doctrinal difference?
A curious thing is how the PLA displayed little urgency in putting better atgms on their IFVs, most of them have HJ-73Cs and the mysterious gun launched Atgm used by the 100mm gun, which is never identified(most likely Bastion).

I'd say it's the IFV version based on the gun and turret silhouette. IRRC the 105mm gun is longer and the turret much larger, so since the gun doesn't poke out of the camouflage net I think it's the IFV version.

Note the rear ramp compared to ZBL-08's swing door (At last!). The wheel arrangement and the hull shape also change quite a bit.

I think this is either the IFV or the 120mm gun-mortar system. I believe (and wish) this new 8x8 system will have:
122mm howitzer,
155mm howitzer,
120mm gun-mortar,
105mm assault gun,
30mm or 40mm auto-cannon,
35mm anti-air gun,
6x30mm anti-air gun,
AFT-10 anti-tank missiles,
Some kind of short range anti-air missile system,
among others.

I have just noticed, they've now put the new-style hubcaps (first installed on the ZTL-11) on the IFV and other variants as well.
