A reliable Weibo poster has shared a line drawing that allegedly shows an auxiliary buoyancy and propulsion unit. It's designed to be attached to existing armor vehicles to give them amphibious capabilities by providing extra buoyancy as well as propulsion.

PLA paratroopers did make an interesting choice in procurement of this IFV , it seems like they made the choice to move away from the Type 03 tracked IFV in favor of this wheeled IFV, I wonder if is because the smaller logistical footprint of a wheeled vehicle or the re-thinking of what kind of role the fill now. Favoring easier deployment over cross terrain mobility.
