A reliable Weibo poster has shared a line drawing that allegedly shows an auxiliary buoyancy and propulsion unit. It's designed to be attached to existing armor vehicles to give them amphibious capabilities by providing extra buoyancy as well as propulsion.

Can ZBD-04A fit inside well decks of LPD and LHD while using this thing?

Airborne 4x4 (CS/VN3C?) on an airdrop pallet.

Yes, type 075 can fit at least 3 type 726 inside its well deck which has at least 16.8m width.

Zbd-04a is roughly 3.3m wide, plus those auxiliary buoyancy devices maybe 5,5m.

So 3 in a row can fit width wise.

PLA paratroopers did make an interesting choice in procurement of this IFV , it seems like they made the choice to move away from the Type 03 tracked IFV in favor of this wheeled IFV, I wonder if is because the smaller logistical footprint of a wheeled vehicle or the re-thinking of what kind of role the fill now. Favoring easier deployment over cross terrain mobility.

Maybe they have both but for this mission wheeled ones will suffice?
