Allegedly an image of a next-generation wheeled amphibious assault vehicle.
That's definitely a transom flap, and definitely a wheel lol.
I wonder how they will achieve higher speed hydroplaning if they have a transom flap .. the wheels probably have to be hitched up/semi retracted somehow, I can't imagine they'd just leave them hanging.

I thought transom flaps aid in hydroplaning by forming a continuous surface with the bow flap and the vehicle's underside. As for the wheels, I suppose they are small for a reason. Maybe they can be rotated 90 degrees or something close to that and sit relatively flush with the underside, kind of like how airplane landing gears retract.
Yes, what I mean is that the presence of the transom flap means they want to achieve high speeds, but I'm not sure how they would be able to achieve that given the drag of the wheels, so I'm speculating if there is a way to reduce the drag such as semi-retracting them.
I didn't mean that the transom flap is inconsistent with wanting to achieve high speeds, because of course the opposite is true.
