8000km is longer than that of the H-6K.

If it overcomes the thermal barrier for sustained flight at Mach 6 for a manned aircraft, it will be quite an achievement for China's material technology. It is not a ram-jet missile that burst to maximum speed at the terminal stage of the flight.

I mean not high enough for direct line of sight communication between the airship and a hypersonic plane 8000Km away due to the curvature of the Earth. Probably need satellite but then you don't need an airship, just relay it to ground base.

Assuming all satellites are damaged, after the satellites battle at the onset of the hot war, between OpFor and China.

IMHO, ... ...

That can be easily solved by deploying a Redundant Overlapping chain of networked Yuan Meng CISR airships as the Hypersonic drones and HGV Wu-14 targeting system.
Because, Yuan Meng CISR is solar powered.
It can loiter for many, many months between 20 --- 100 km height, without returning back to China.

For self defense, Yuan Meng can be equipped with 4 Solar Rechargeable Portable DiLithium Crystal 360 degree Laser Beam weapons

For those who think this is just day dreaming, then check the recent technical breakthrough from China again. All the components have been physically tested and they are ready.

It is only a matter of integrating them in Yuan Meng platform.

If anyone think there is some illogical holes and flaws in this Yuan Meng setup.
Please feel free to point it out to me. I would very much welcome your feedback.

A line of air ships like that would be easily downed at the beginning of such a conflict just like the sats...hypothetical lasers notwithstanding. They would be targeted for that very reason at the onset with multiple missiles, EW, etc.

Better to have a secondary network like the one being developed with MQ-4C Tritons communicating with E-2Ds and P-8s. Those platforms are much harder to bring down in the middle of the ocean...much more maneuverable, unpredictable, and much more survivable IMHO.

Let's get back to discussing the hypersonic aircraft themselves.
