Chinese Hypersonic Developments (HGVs/HCMs)

Has anyone seen or analyse this fanboy J-28 design ?

Is anyone seriously believing the fanboi illustration is able to reach hypersonic speeds?

Based on physics the projectile requires to be within a certain envelope so it does not stick out of the sonic pressure bubble radius. The pressure bubble develops at the very top and becomes bigger as it moves down the extension of the body and can be represented by a cone shape envelope. At Mach 1 I recall the angle is around 34 degrees and becomes narrower as it accelerates. Although my memory is vague I believe the angle for mach 5 was something like 16 degrees. That is why all high speed projectiles shapes are basically the same with a stubby wing at the back.

I don't think anyone's taking it seriously at all, but it's an interesting picture to have a good old chinwag about.

It's only a week from National Day of the People's Republic of China.(PRC was founded on October-1-1949) We usually get some kind of exciting/intersting pics on those big holidays from military forums in China.

My wish list before today was some updated photo of the 001A hull. But now I hope to see some kind of blury pics related to JH-XX or the hypersonic plane/UAV. There is not much on the J-20 front since we've just seen photos of 2016, new engines is out of the question at least for a while. 055 pics won't be out until next year. Maybe second J-31?

What do you guys think we will see on Oct-1? A big disappointment or something for us to talk about? :)

That unknown UAV could be CH4 or CH5 with-out wings and tail stabiliser attached, ...

No !!! Surely not. Both the CH-4 and CH-5 are build by the China Academy of Aerospace Aerodynamics (pat of the "

So, regarding that short wing UAV being Wing Loong, I dug up a close up of WL and it appears that the wing can't be separated at that spot. The wings are removed at wing root for transportation, there is an image also at Zhuhai showing wing root fairings missing which apparently was during wing assembly.

...
but let's not waste the artist's work and imagination. Here is few more pics (from彩虹熊DJDBY):D

Agreed ! And nice to see my old friend Bai Wei again ... Any info onwhere he posts is latest artworks ?

His both older blogs are either completely dated or offline:

I thought that's what you said according to lcloo from last page in this thread.

Anyway.... Bai Wei's ID is RainbowBear (彩虹熊)on CJDBY forum. I don't know where else he post his CG work.

Yes and No, and I hope that I ws not misleading. Indeed I suggested it to be a CJ-1 / Wing Loong without its wings ... but this has been proven wrong by "hmmwv". The CH-4/-5 was never mentioned by me.

Yes, but sadly I lost a bit contact last years ... by the way he also posts sometimes as "Peter Pan" !
