^^^ I'm curious about the cup like ring around the muzzle of the 7.62 design. Flash hider?
Probably put in there so the guys firing them can actually see what they are aiming at.
I think it's for the smoke as well.

I think the PLA has never fully lost it's frugle roots and do not like the 'spray and pray' approach (especially since the PLA is atheist, and so would not expect 'praying' to do them much good anyways ) of Gatling weapons.
They will do R&D to keep up with the tech, but do not expect to see these bad boys deployed widely.
That may change once the PLA gets a first hand taste of fire support from helos and realise just how hard it is to get any sort of accuracy when shooting out the side door of a hard manoeuvring helo trying to hit guys with RPGs/HMGs etc before they hit your ride.
It really depends on the terrain. I have no doubt that PLA units for urban combat are equipped with this.
How will gatling guns help in combat in urbain terrain?
A large Gattling gun mounted on a tracked chassis, this vehicle can fire at ground and air targets. Gatling tanks are very effective versus infantry and decent against light vehicles and aircraft. They are also among China's faster vehicles, and are cheap and easy to produce on the battlefield. This makes the Gatling tank a good scout early on in a battle until MiGs can be produced.
Lol, yes, we should all look up to that game with the MiG 1.44 as the next generation Chinese fighter, Chinese nuclear artillery, and pretty Chinese lady hackers in skin-tight suits for all of our answers.
Buddy, Chinese agents tried to approach the developer of Metal Storm and bribed him to transfer the technology.
Sure. Gatling guns aren't the most effective ones in every use except probably the modern dogfighting (where speeds are too high and you still want to hit your enemy with at least 2 or 3 shells). In the ground combat, given the Gatling's weight and ammo consumption per sec, one would always prefer something of true areal action (like an AGL).I think metal storm is overrated. With accurate aiming, you don't need such a blinding rate of fire. Maybe, that's why it has not been fielded.
