So Hoyoverse launched preview of 2.7 which revelas more Chasm/Yaksha/Liyue content. With Yelan, Xiao and Yanfei playing a big part.


@Century2030 since you seem to be a fellow Liyue friend aswell, but also for everybody else, how effective or suited do you see genshin's way of promoting Liyue(China) culture across the game?

Are you happy they way things are done? What can be improved regarding Genshin's Liyue storytelling/Setting/etc. ?

Even though Whitesnake 2 didnt catch me storywise its animation indeed was par excellence


I highly recommend to check out Jiangziya (2020) for everybody liking Chinese animated feature films




Also can we appreciate that they use chinese numbers

I don't think they are bad but I feel like Mihoyo honestly doesn't have that Chinese feel to them. A lot of their works and behavior always felt more western or worst, Japanese than Chinese. Their name and their company profile using words like "otaku" screams japanese obsession.
I feel this is the case with all HK game developers in general. I'm looking forward to the Black Myth Wukong game and Honor of Kings World by Timi for my Chinese game fix. They tend to do the Chinese softpower and culture more justice.

Cool, I watched Nezha and at the end it had a preview of Yang Jian. Meanwhile, I'll be sure to check out Jiangziya.

It seems like Lightchaser is trying to create its own cinematic universe, which is cool, but it's kind of disappointing they didn't spend more time in the White Snake mythos, having fast-forwarded the story to modern day at the end of WS2.

IMO, Mihoyo is doing a good job. The Liyue characters and environment are on point. Story is entertaining as well.
One thing I wish they would improve on is to introduce better outfits for some of the characters. Zhongli and Xiao look great but a few others are lacking in aesthetics.

Overall, what Mihoyo is doing is a net positive. It's a good first step to building up the domestic media industry. Hopefully in the future other Chinese game developers are able to step up and achieve global success too.

This is the Chinese drama adaptation. Produced by Tencent.

Newest trailer just came out today:

Looks absolutely gorgeous, I'm guessing it's set during the Tang Dynasty along the Silk Road.

I want invite everybody to give Bai Yao Pu ("Faires Album" as its official Bilibili translation) a try if you are into donghua.

The two Introduction episode are okayish IMHO, but it gets ALOT better starting from ep 3.

Certainly on of the better donghua and many episodes did leave me wet eyed.

Although donghua in gener needs to be a bit more creative with yaoguai depiction in their beast form, sometimes they look like a fancy primary schools pupils monster drawing...

Overall 8/10, good but has some imperfections
