Falcon Aerospace (鸿鹏航空动力) shows off its E300 hybrid power system at Zhuhai Airshow, which couples a turboshaft to a generator to produce a maximum output of 300kW and a sustained output of 240kW, ideal for eVTOL, etc. In the background, left side, you can see the company's 600kW turboprop. Other products include a smaller E30 hybrid power system (turbojet coupled to generator) and heavy oil piston engines.

They got 80m RMB of order for their D160 heavy piston engine and this is going to help fund their hybrid propulsion drive. Goes all the way from E10 to E300 at least

The E30 hybrid system can power low cost cruise missiles. I haven't even thought of that!
it consists of small turbojet engine with high speed direct drive generator and controller.

The high temperature and high speed gas ejected by the turbojet engine drives the power turbine assembly to rotate at high speed and directly driving the high speed generator to generate electricity and provide electrical energy for the equipment.

This one is even more interesting since whatever efficient you do with Hybrid turbojet engine can be done imo on turbofan engine.

So we can have high efficiency turbofan hybrid engine.

It's easier to do hybrid with turboprop and turboshaft but turbofan hybrid is the end game here.

除了收获订单,鸿鹏航空全球首发的E300混合动力系统,航展期间备受关注。

据悉,鸿鹏E300混合动力系统可为机载、地面用电设备提供电力,可供飞行器单次飞行2小时以上,与纯电动力相比,在同等起飞重量、同等当量体积比例前提下,增程能力达到4倍以上。

外形看,鸿鹏E300混合动力系统由一系列精密部件组成,结构错综复杂。2021年开始筹备、2022年确定工程方案、2024年完成联调联试,鸿鹏E300混合动力系统研发之路历时900多个日夜,终于攻破重重难关在航展首日发布,成为国内首台由民营发动机企业自主研发并研制成功的突破产品。

“混合动力系统代表了鸿鹏对未来动力市场的深度思考。”鸿鹏航空董事长许可达表示,公司自成立以来,坚持实践“引进消化-正向研发-国产化”路径,并自主研发高性价比和满足适航要求的航空发动机产品。

今年10月21日,鸿鹏航空活塞发动机珠海生产基地在斗门大横琴5.0产业新空间正式竣工投产。据悉,该生产基地完整涵盖了组装生产、试车检测、维修保养三大功能区域,并创造了民营发动机企业的两个国内第一:第一个完整引入EASA发动机组装线设计建造;第一个完整涵盖从研发试制、生产组装到全球MRO服务体系三大板块。

“目前,一期生产线已经全部投产,单款发动机年产量将达到每年500台,随着二期工程建设完成,年产量还将更高。”许可达表示,鸿鹏航空已走在自主创新的良性发展道路上,基本具备与世界先进发动机企业同台竞技的潜能。未来,将为低空飞行器提供经济、可靠的动力解决方案,助推珠海低空产业向前、向好。
The E300 can provide over 2 hours of flying time for aircraft. Increases range by 4x vs battery electric.
And looks like they already completed testing on it. Now, just need to put it on an aircraft.

And they have a production base for the heavy piston and I guess the hybrid propulsion. Can produce up to 500 a year when fully complete and they have a phase 2. I guess this would just depend on the development of eVTOL and such.

there can be multiple Falcon Aviation globally. This Chinese company 鸿鹏航空 does not seem to have any link to Abu Dhabi.

The dude on the screen is not Chinese.
