I *think* VCE might be used in conjunction with that new 4 stage compressor design. But they might be pursuing multiple paths and seeing which technologies are most ready when they’re ready to fly it on a new fighter design.

I think it will be a good idea to send a message to Russia that they have two choices; either sell China whatever engine technology it wants, or don't and China will catch up anyway through espionage/poaching/innovation/etc. Second choice might take longer, but end result is the same, which is...

Lmao I mean to say that I believe the word coming out from Liu Daxiang but not so much from 萌虎鲸. Also his claim of 100 J-20 per year.

I think especially today we have a lot of insiders who hear about a lot of different projects but may not know the actual intended roadmaps or project objectives set by upper level decision makers for stuff they don't directly touch. And that's in large part a function of how diversified the portfolio of projects have become in the Chinese aerospace industry. We used to get more predictive insider commentary because projects used to be more single track. Multi-track is a good sign for the health of the domestic industry but it's turning into a headache in terms of filtering out predictive accuracy of claims.
