the rumour out is that FWS-10 has achieved production certification. That's why we are seeing all this recent J-11B entering service news and J-11B/FWS-10 combination winning national science technology award.

I think even if it did not happen already, it should pretty soon, because all of the small production problems seemed to be resolved now. Just waiting for FWS-10A for J-10A and the improved TH engine for J-10B.

^ One thing surprises me... are you certain that they will be producing FWS-10A on J-10A? Now that J-10B is already in testing, there's no reason to field an engine exclusively for J-10A.

It makes much more sense for the last J-10A to use AL-31FN and then J-10B starts with FWS-10A.

report there's technical breakthrough in the development of WS-15.
aside from Ws-15,PLAAF is currently developing WS-10H,which has more powerful thrust.likely to power J-10B.

it definitely seems so. Any word with FWS-10A's status? I remember reading that it flew with J-10 in 2007 or 2008. Since FWS-10 and 10A are slightly different (if I remember correctly, they also have different thrust right?), don't we need some production J-10s with FWS-10A before it can get certified?

Does the FWS-10 have higher, same, or lower thrust?
